    A message appears that says 'Try a different folder, it took a long time to gather all your media for playback. Please try a different folder.'

    I have no idea why because other songs that I pay on the same hard drive work and others don't. Its quite strange but I don't think im the only person this is happening to.

    I haven't tried other types of media but I think it will say the same about some pictures/films. I haven't set my external hard drive up to hold games etc from my xbox but that shouldn't really effect this should it?

    Media Player (preview)

    Tried my portable hard drive last night running the ntfs file system and it worked so it isn't completely limited to flash memory or fat32. The hard drive is a Western digital 500 gig with 3.0 usb. It asked if I wanted to format it for games and apps use
    but I just cancelled the prompt.

    Ill give it a whirl on Friday. Apparently it must be a Fat32 or NTCF nFormat for X1 to read it.

    Same thing is happening to me. Will play about 10 seconds of a song and then I get the same message. Also says it cant find usb when my mp3 player is plugged in.

    yeah, same with my iPod, no songs, films, pictures are being found on it, just notes, recordings, contacts and calendar

    It's great to have this Xbox Live Feature from Xbox 360 brought over to Xbox 1. I usually can just put pics and short videos from my PC to USB and play them on Xbox 360. You can also use this very method to add pictures to your Xbox 360 Dashboard. Just put
    pics from your PC to your USB, plug it in, and select it as your wanted Dash background. I hope they bring change Dash background and Voice Messages soon there is quite a lot of demand for it. Congrats on bringing this feature to Xbox 1 M.
