Media Player Preview loses connection to USB device periodically

I tried using the new media player, and a few times while watching the movie, I got a message that the connection to the USB drive was lost at the same time I got a new notification saying the USB device was ready. I had to navigate back to my original place
in the movie.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue or have any suggestions?

I am getting real fed up with Xbox acting like this isn't a real problem with tons of threads that get closed without resolution. Whether it's a small group or not we deserve to have ALL features on our Xbox working.

Btw I have wdd my book 4tb drive.

 

I've not heard of that happening with anyone else. Try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down and see if the problem repeats itself.

 

I'm having the same exact problem, navigate to a movie to watch and then attempts to move to the level to select a title and then it displays Lost connection to ... Please make sure your device is plugged in and try again

Over and over again, unless this is a beta problem..the hard drive is immediately recognized after the error message. Also is there a reason while something is downloading I can't play demos? I was installing madden 15 and it would not launch the Nhl 15
demo! Is this a hard drive issue or common with multitasking?

 

And hard resetting the system does not resolve this problem, the only thing I could think of is letting the hard drive sit and populate the entire hdd before attempting to watch something

 

Yeah I'm having the same issue also. Happens about every ten minutes or so whilst I'm watching a movie (MP4). Instantly reconnects to the USB again after the error is closed but I have to navigate to where I was in the film all over again. Very frustrating,
will playback on my Blu-Ray player USB port in the mean time.

 

I'm having a similar issue where it will play the media for about 5-10 minutes and then says it has lost connection to the device. I back out and it instantly sees my device again. I select what I was watching and fast forward to the point it cut off and
it will then play for another 5-10 minutes before doing it again. Sometimes it can go 30 odd minutes before doing it. I have tried two different Portable HD's with different cables and get the same results. I have checked the devices on the 360 and that plays
the videos with no problem. It has to be either Software Issues with the Media Player or the USB ports on the Xbox One cutting out briefly.

 

Having the same annoying issue. Didn't start happening till I updated the media player yesterday. I hope they fix it sooner then later.

 

Having the same problem here and again with MP4 videos. Have tried doing both soft and hard restarts, neither of which make any difference. It had been working just fine until a few days again, I'd watched a fair few movies and tv shows via my USB hard drive
without any interruption. However, in the last few days I haven't been able to watch anything longer than 10 minutes without the error appearing and me having to go back into the HD, selecting the video again and then trying to find where I was up to.

 

Glad I found this thread - have been experiencing these same issues. I've tried 2 x usb devices and both keep losing connection periodically. This only started to happen in the past week. So annoying.

 

I'm having the same issue as well. I can go through an hour or so, maybe two or three without it happening, then BAM, "lost connection to USB, yadda yadda yadda." This has just started this week. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon.

 

I think it anti-pirate protection. Sony had the same thing on the PS3. Any movies used to stop after 10 mins.

 

I am having the same issue but playback lasts much longer like 60-90 minutes. The real pain is that it does not remember where it left off and you need to find your spot.

 

I am also having the same issue. The time varies from 5 min to over a hour sometimes I can get through a whole movie. It seems to have started after the October update. This is very frustrating!!! They need to fix it!
