Media Player Preview loses connection to USB device during mp4 playback

Is anyone else having this issue as well? It is driving me nuts as it happens all the time and at different point during playback and the app does not remember when you leave off. I am using a 32GB USB 3.0 stick.

USB Device Unavailable

Since the latest update to Media Player Preview, every 5-15 minutes playback stops as the USB device is suddenly unavailable. I can then reselect the device and access it again for another 5-15 minutes.

I'm having the same issues here, constantly disconnecting. Today I'm seeing that the app is completely gone. Anyone know what's going on?

 

happens to me all the time, glad im not the only one, its so annoying, wonder why it does it, hopefully they fix it or give us an answer soon

 

I basically have been holding on to my Xbox 360 just for this purpose to play back movies off a USB stick.

 

I am having the same problem. I have attached two different usb drives to the xbox one and one thumb drive. A video will play for about 30 minutes and then the xbox will say it has lost connection with the attached usb drive. I contacted tech about this
and the tech indicated this problem was not documented and had no solution noted. I told him that many people online had indicated this same problem but no one seems to know what to problem is caused by or a solution. I was a useless chat session with Microsoft.

 

I am having the same issue. Very annoying. The time until it looses the USB varies from a few minutes to an hour or so. Hope there is a fix soon.

 

Having the same problem and I keep seeing the threads closed even though this is a known issue that is constantly being brought up. It's as if they want everyone to think it's an isolated problem as opposed to the big issue that they've known about for 5
months now. I'm thinking there is a problem akin to the rrod where the ports aren't functioning properly so the only fix is a recall. I'm a huge fan of my Xbox but this problem is becoming very tedious

 

Btw I have wdd my book 4tb drive.

 

I am getting real fed up with Xbox acting like this isn't a real problem with tons of threads that get closed without resolution. Whether it's a small group or not we deserve to have ALL features on our Xbox working.

 

I agree still an issue and ms keep closing the threads with no resilution.

 

For the love of God, Microsoft, at least respond to this problem. Happens all the time, and has happened since Media Player's release.

 

+1 i have same issue, i´ve read in other forums that it may be related to the power saving and that maintaining the pad on stops the issue, has anyone tried? i will try it next time i watch a film. Might make sense tho, that when the pad turns off that the
usb ports do similar?!

 

Same problem here, says it lost connection with usb. Has been doing it since i had the "media player preview". Does it randomly and sometimes multiple times per file being played. My xbox is fully up to date, using a WD my book 2 TB 3.0 and its plugged into
the side usb port. MICROSOFT....fix it please.
