The only feedback I've received, is either that they are working on it, or them telling me to try the trouble shooting steps that I'm sure everyone has tried multiple times with no success.

External hard drives connected to the XBOX One and One S must be at least USB 3.0.

Does anyone know if this is actually being worked on and have an ETA on when we could see a fix??? I'm tired of not being able to use my external drive!

  9. Tried again last night and no luck. At this point I guess I'll have to put what I can back on the consoles hard drive since Microsoft is too incompetent to fix an issue they created. Or, at the very least give us an update to let us know they're still working
    it.

  12. Hi guys,

Hopefully this will help you as it seems to have fixed my issue for me. Simply do a hard reset of your Xbox One. Also, ensure that the drive is formatted in either NTFS, exFAT, or FAT32. Otherwise it won't work.

    Good luck!

Not to be rude Capt BlackTape but is literally the second thing tech support made us do. This issue is more then just a simple hard reset.

A "Hard Reset" of my X1??

    "Format" my drive??

I've got nearly 1TB of games and game saves on the drive so will NOT be formatting/resetting anything given it was Microsoft complete ineptitude with their crappy update that has caused it. Advice like yours, will create MORE problems than it actually solves,
so maybe read the entire thread/s before commenting.

    d3xt3r1874,

to be fair to that other guy it sounds like something similar to what someone from xbox just emailed me 3 days ago. only difference was the guy said it HAS to be in NTFS format only and it should work. even though i agree its 100% BS that you have to reformat
your drive because of XBOX's screw up. i'll post the email from the guy (JB) at xbox support emailed me

"Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your patience in this matter and I am sorry it has taken so long. I have continued investigating this issue in more detail as promised. I have been watching those forums as well. Someone recently posted a new thing
that worked for them. First thing they did was make sure that their hard drive was formated in the NTFS format. If it is not formated in this method it will not read properly. The next thing they did was did a full system format. They said this resolved their
issue. I think it might be the next step we need to take to get your issue resolved. You can plug your hard drive into your computer and check what your device is currently formatted in. If it is not in NTFS then our first step would be to format it into that
format. If you have any other question or if this works please let me know. I have continued to bring this up to find any other answers."
