    Media Player Install


    I'm trying to install the Media Player on my XBox One. When i do a search for it, it pops up, but there is no option to install it.

    When I go to my Apps, it's no where to be found. The only thing I see are XBox Video & Xbox Music. How do I get the Media Player

    Installed on my Xbox One. If it's already installed, where would I find it. It's not under Apps. I've already trying pulling video and pictures

    from my Canon Camera, but the XB1 won't even recognize that it's there. When I go to devices it only shows my 500GB HDD and my

    4TB HDD, which is attached. Any help would be appreciated.

    xbox one hopeless media player

    I don't even try media player as it doesn't play much but expected more from plex, it's def a plex issue as Iv installed plex client on PC and still have issues. Iv tried media player with usb, no joy there either.

    What media player are you using? Do you have your movie files on an external HD? Have you re-installed the media player and unplugged the storage device?

    Is this the only app having issues?

    Give us more information on the app and if you have re-installed it and we'll go from there.
    Using xbox one’s media player.

    Movies are on my home server/computer.

    Tried uninstalling media player hard reboot then installed media player and no joy, same problem.

    No other issues with other apps.

    They now have a Media Player app that will read items either from a USB or your computer. Please search the App Store for the Media Player app and install it.

    Continuing to receive message: "Lost connection to USB device" when using media player on Xbox One

    I have also received the 0xc101008e (0x80072efe) exception but while streaming music from the PLEX media server to the XBOX One media player. Media player works fine for a while then throws the exception.

    I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the media player app.

    The network is hardwired using Cat 5 Ethernet and the network test is fine.

    Windows Media Player already installed in Windows 7 (or a free download if you have the N version). Xbox One Media Player to play that content. You can control all playback functions with Kinect.

    Alternatively purchase NAS with built in media server. Use Xbox One's Media Player to playback content. Use Kinect to control playback.

    Buy a media remote if you don't have Kinect.

    You seem to be adding needlessly complex steps to your media playback.
