  1. Media Player Flaw

There's no way to make a long story short on this topic. As far back as the early 360 days I've used my Xbox with external hard drives to watch videos of all kinds due to its ease of use. The Xbox One makes that so much better being able to have up to an
8TB drive for media use. I religiously use Seagate hard drives because they have never failed me. I got a Seagate slim 4TB external drive for movies, videos I edit, tv shows, among other media files. It all worked great at the start then out of nowhere any
new video file I added would read on the Xbox but not play. There are no format issues as all of my video files are AVI, MP4, or MKV which are all accepted. All files I had previously had on this drive before this issue would still both read and play. Weird
right? I took these new files that wouldn't play and put them on different external hard drives and flash drives and both would read and play just fine. So it isn't the files after that specific test. I thought somewhere along the lines a corrupt file may
have disrupted adding/playing any new files. All the meanwhile even the 4TB drive would read and play everything on my computer with no issues at all so it seems like an Xbox issue right? Moving on, Seagate sent me a replacement drive so I wouldn't lose any
files. Spent 36 hours transferring 2.2 terabytes of video files. At first glimpse the files that didn't work on the other drive worked but I noticed that some still didn't which ended up being the last 112 files that transferred. As I have everything very
well organized in folders I knew which were the last to copy. After more research I realized once you reach 5,000 total video files the Xbox one console will not play anything beyond that, it will read files beyond 5,000 but won't play them whereas everything
still works fine on the computer. My next move was to take these files back below 5,000 and add one single video file to see if it would play and it still wouldn't buy anything added before the 5,000th file still worked fine. It denies you the ability to add
new files and play them. The only answer is to reformat the drive and start over which if you don't have another huge external laying around is impossible. If you watch any video files via external hard drive on your Xbox, never surpass 5,000 because you will
be ****! Microsoft tech support was in awe I spent the last few weeks troubleshooting this issue to come to a final verdict. It has been submitted and maybe they will work on this issue but in the meantime don't go over 5,000 video files! The other thing I
don't know but will soon is if this is only an issue on original Xbox one consoles(which is what I own) or if it also is an issue on the new Xbox One S consoles(which I will own soon and find out). If anyone has any questions comment, or especially any solutions
please let me know. Maybe it works better with western digital? Who knows.

    :)

  2. XBox Scorpio as Home Entertainment?

Looking at X1 I would keep expectations low.

I thought I could use X1 for bluray player and media player - but apps have been so buggy and simply shutting console down and things like that. Playing some media at wrong speed is another strange flaw.

And you have no settings which are common on mediaplayers, delay to audio to make lipsync on screen are missing in X1 so far.

So I bought a standalone bluray player to play my videos as well as commercial media like films etc.

Mine too. Tried re-installing (from popular apps) and installation stops at 100%.

    Media Player Flaw

I ran into the same problem and I have now resorted to using an old laptop as a media server (running an application called Universal Media Server) and browse that on my Xbox in Media Player. Thanks for the information because all the other information and
suggestions (which I tried) didn't work (resetting console, etc).

  5. I'm having this issue with a 3 TB Seagate it pops up fine but I noticed a lot of my files were missing. It plays what is there but that sucks. I plugged the drive back into my computer and all my files were there. So what a stupid thing to not go past 5000
files. X BOX make a patch to fix this.

Flawed reputation system - "Avoid Me" due to playing Call of Duty multiplayer

You do realize that I'd rep was flawed everyone would have bad rep which they dont

Guess why because most players are good players

You see the largely flawed theory of yours ?
