Media Player app directory listing bug

The "Media Player" app seems to have a bug that causes it to not only list files in the directory I'm looking in, but also list files that were there at one point but have since been moved/deleted.

If it makes a difference, I'm looking through folders on my NAS, which I'm browsing via DLNA. There doesn't seem to be anywhere else to post bug reports for this app.

    :)

I have the same problem- despite of installing the Media player app on xboxOne.

And the listing of monies do not correspond to the folders I have on my W10Pro computer, it is very confusing.

    Media player app

Loving the new app. It fast forwards and rewinds quicker than any device I own and has wide file coverage. But I'd like to change the two row view of the thumbs. Some directories I have consist of 500plus files so I'd like more of a grid layout for better browsing of the thumbs.

Is there a way a can change the layout?

    windows 10

I'm using a German Windows 10, so my translation of some menu descriptions might not be exact, but I hope you can follow these instructions.

Make sure your Xbox 360 console is running, and that you do NOT have any third party firewall software running (like Norton or other Anti-Virus suites that have a Firewall included).

(Left-)Click on the network icon in the lower right, next to the clock (depending on if you're connecting your computer wired or wireless, you'll see a wireless icon, or a computer screen with network cable).

Click on the Network and Internet settings.

Further down that window should be a link to "Network and Sharing center".

In that new window, click on "Change advanced sharing settings" on the left side of the window.

Drop the arrow for "All networks" and under the Media Streaming click on "Choose Media Streaming options..."

If not activated, activate Media streaming (requires Administrator privileges).

If media streaming is activated, find your Xbox 360 in the list of devices, and give it permission to access your media library.

Now click on the start menu, and type "Windows Media Player" and open the Windows Media Player.

Make sure that the media you want to share is found in the Media Player Library.

The Xbox 360 will ONLY access content that is visible here in the Media Player Library.

By default the Media Player will look into the Music, Video and Picture folders of your user account, and the equivalents of the public directory.

If necessary, go to the settings in the Media Player, and add the directories where you store your media files or move your media files to the default directories under your user account.

Media Player for Xbox Series S is asking me to "Sign In" when opening the app. error code 0xc00d11cd (0x8000000e)

Hello Thomas C, I am an independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today. My name is Khaji

Error code 0xc00d11cd (0x8000000e) in the Xbox Series S Media Player app usually indicates a problem with authorization or access to media files.
Make sure you're signed in to your Xbox Series S account before opening the Media Player app. If you are not logged in, it may not allow you to access your media files.

Make sure your Xbox account privacy settings allow access to media files. You can do this by going to the privacy settings in the console and making sure that the option to allow other users to see your media is enabled.

Make sure the media files you want to play are compatible with the Xbox Media Player app. The Xbox Series S supports a variety of file formats, but some specific formats may not be supported. See the Xbox documentation for more information on supported file formats.

Also make sure the media files are located in the correct directory on your external hard drive. Media files must be placed in a folder called "Media Player" at the root of the external hard drive for the Media Player application to recognize them correctly.

Try a different storage device If you're still having problems, try connecting another storage device, such as a USB flash drive, to your Xbox Series S and check if the Media Player app can access the files on that device. This will help determine if the problem is related to the external hard drive or the console settings.

Update the Media Player app Make sure the Media Player app is updated to the latest available version. You can do this by going to the Xbox App Store and checking for updates for the app.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact us again.
