Discus and support Media Player App BITSTREAM audio update??? in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Dear Xbox One S staff, would you please state once and 4 all whether you are planning on bringing the BITSTREAM audio option to the Media Player app...     Media Player App BITSTREAM audio update???


    Dear Xbox One S staff,

    would you please state once and 4 all whether you are planning on bringing the BITSTREAM audio option to the Media Player app or not? Whole AV community at various forums eagerly awaits this feature so the USB playback could be in native audio footprint.

    DISSAPPOINTING MKV, AVI not playing any sound on Xbox One

    Unless they implement DAMN BITSTREAM (real pass-thru) audio option in the Movies or Media Player app, there won´t be any sound when playing MKVs or .mp4s or any other files with HD audio embedded...totally inept Microsoft

    absolutely agree, Microsoft is unable (or intentionally unwilling?) to properly set up audio/video properties of the XB1S/X consoles, and has been a for a looong time now...Media Player and Movies app are still incapable of properly playing back HD audio
    formats off USB, the app itself (Media Player) hasn´t been updated for like a year...

    the VLC app team said they tried to contact Microsoft in order to obtain access to the Exclusive Mode in SDK so they could do something with bitstream capability, Microsoft wouldn´t respond...it´s a clear nonsense

    getting lots of error messages with new update to media player preview (0xc1010107, 0xc00d36c3, 0xc00d5212)

    MKV vids with DTS audio won't work for me either. This should be a simple update for media player app I would think. Crossing my fingers they include as many audio formats as possible.

    After a longer test, Narco is OK, things are perfect with netflix app.

    So it seems that it's BR player app that is glitched...

    What this app is it doing???? Bitstream it's bitstream, the app shouldn't touch the signal and only give it to the TV/AVR as it is on the media, or it seems it decodes it, does something to it, then reencode it????
