Media onto my External Harddrive

Hi, could anyone help ? I've a 3 TB Seagate USB 3.0 formatted on the Xbox One for Xbox storage. I've about 2.7 TB of media I want to now load back onto it. How do I do that ? Thanks a million.

Access external HDD on my Xbox 360 via PC

Hi there,

i have an external harddrive plugged to my xbox 360 to consume media over the Xbox/TV. I'd like to access that harddrive with my PC via WiFi or DLNA(?) to put new media on it without moving it from Xbox to PC.
is that possible?

 

Xbox One external harddrive problem

I wish to buy an external harddrive for the xbox, and I always wonder this question.......

I am to buy an extremely large external drive, like 8TB, then i am going to store all my games on xbox one on it of course, those I have now and I will have in future.

Then, can I plug out that drive and save media files from PC on it? I have an media library that I would like to back up in external (primary objective) and then I can also watch it on xbox one (secondary objective).

The thing is, if I finished transfering media to the drive and put it back in xbox one, will xbox alter those file without cosent? like, will xbox one delete those file if my future game installment is larger than available space without telling me before it do so? Or will it just outright overwrite the file even if the storage is not full?

I am sick of getting two external harddrive, buying 2x4TB for PC and Xbox is more expensive and in my region, 8TB of internal harddrive for PC is at exact same price as 8TB of USB 3.0 external harddrive.....

I am in such a worry because I have always assume xbox one as an evil, arrogant machine and the media library I wish to back up is very important.....

You need to assign a drive letter on your pc in the disk management console to be able to access the drive when connected to your pc.

 

Hi, thanks. Just to be 100%. This is an external connected to the USB on my Xbox One as Xbox storage. Do you mean: (a) I can find it via Media Devices on my Win 8.1 control panel or (b) I can disconnect it from the Xbox One and connect it to my PC for
the transfer or what ? Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks again.

 

Hi, just to give you feedback. Your guidance cost me hours and hours. Also it's not near right. Taking an external and doing that formats it. And, you plug it back into the Xbox One, and format it back to a Xbox drive. Nett result, hours and all games
& saves... gone ! Nice ?

 

Sorry, but I never told you to have the drive formatted when plugging it into the pc. Normally you just connect it to the pc and if it's not showing up you just need to assign a drive letter to it so you can access it. Never said anything about formatting
it!

And your save games will are not give as they are stored in the cloud. So if you reinstall the games all your game standings will be there again.
