Media centre streaming problem

I want to play my music from the pc through my 360. have followed the steps posted on the forum but no go, and the support section shows a version of media im not running. have windows 7 home basic and windows media v12. also cant find windows media app
on 360 app store.

please help. everything says it should be easy but its not!

media centre pc help me please

Hi

Your Chrome Book might allow DNLA streaming, which the Xbox 360 will support.

However the in-built Media Centre functions are designed for the Windows Media Centre add-on to Windows XP/7/8, Windows 10 doesn't support it.

playing movies from airport extreme HDD

HI - I'm looking for advice on setup of xbox to play movies from an airport extreme HDD.

The extreme is connected to xbox with ethernet cable and i have no problem getting xbox live.

However i'm unsure of setting for streaming media.

Which method - media centre?

Best configuration?

Any help appreciated.

Sorry to hear it. I've always found the media center to be a bit of a pain to connect. However, here is a link with specific info on how to do it.

If, after trying that you are still unable to get it working then I would recommend Tversity. It's a free program that I use that can stream content easily from the console through to the console with little to no issues at all.

thats the same page i went to first. my media player looks nothing like that.

If you are using Windows XP Media Centre Edition you will gain nothing by using Media Centre to stream over Media Player.

thats the same page i went to first. my media player looks nothing like that.

if you have windows 7 then media centre will stream near enough everything apart from mkv's, if your using xp media centre then download runtime 360 to your pc and that will give you the option to watch avi on the xbox through media centre but it converts
the file on the fly.

Will the One be able to stream that recorded media to other devices though? If not then it isn't going to be a replacement for Media Centre on a PC.
