    Mechassault for Backwards Compatability


    It would be so cool to be able to play this game again. It was an “Only on Xbox” title but apparently wasn’t even back-compat on the 360. I only ever got to play singleplayer because I never had Live on the original Xbox, but that alone was pretty great. If this came back I would totally give splitscreen a go with my siblings.

    Only MechAssault 2 is backwards compatible.

    The first Mechassault game is not backwards compatible on the 360 and won't be updated to work with the console. The second game, Mechassault II: Lone Wolf, is backwards compatible as long as your 360 has an official Microsoft hard drive in the console.
    Third party, knock-off, or counterfeit hard drives will not work as they do not have the necessary emulation software on the drive.

    The backwards compatibility program ended last year. Anything that's not compatible, won't be.

    You forget though mech assault requires the giantic controller it comes with

    The emulator doesn't support non standard controllers

    Otherwise we'd have Kinect games or light gun games like house of the dead

    And as smwutches mentioned it's done for good
