Yes. Do i need to pick a different account? And if i do, how do i do it?

I tried doing that by adding a new account to my xbox but it still did not work.

Is it on the same account?

I bought the Ultimate Game Pass thing so i got the games on console and pc, it was bought on my main account

Is Pc using the different account, the account that bought the game? Try power cycle on Xbox described here. If that doesn't work, try to remove
a then add an account that bought the game on your console. Set it again as homebox on your console. Close the game. Login with friends account and play. In the same time, your friend on PC must login with an account that bought the game and play. I know that
you have game pass ultimate. Have you tried a power cycle reset? To conclude:

1. Your main account must be set as homebox on xbox

2. You must login with a different account on Xbox, and since your main account is home you can share games. Try also for that, different account to set as home.

3. Your friend on PC, must login with your main account and play.
