MAYBE A FIX FOR THE HEADSET ADAPTER PROBLEMS !!

Ok sorry for the caps but i been reading forums and sites all day about the issue with 3rd party headsets ( Astros, triton, TB) I have the astro a40 And my friends said the mic is very staticky when I talk somewhat loud or get excited . I was weary about
the actualy cable that goes from 2.5 to 3.5 mm And I believe that is the problem a few people have bought a 2.5 to 3.5 cable so they can skip the adapter part . Here is a link of a guy reporting his problem is fixed

again it's trial and error but I just bought a 2.5 to 3.5 chat cable on eBay for 2$ . I'm crossing my fingers this is the problem .

The headset static is back.

IM having this issue and its extremely annoying! I have the official xbox one stereo headset adapter, Turtle Beach XO Four headset adapter and the Turtle Beach XO Seven Headset adapter and they all do the same thing! It will have minor cutting out at 1st
and then when actual game audio starts it gets an annoying loop of static. Sometimes the sound completely cuts out. I have to remove the adapter from the controller and it fixes it for maybe a few minutes, but its back. Anyone got a fix for this? I hate NOT
using a gaming headset to play my games. MICROSOFT PLEASE FIX THIS!

 

Xbox one headset adapter quit working after a few months

My xbox one headset adapter worked fine for about 3 months and now I can barely get it to work. It recognizes that the adapter is connected to my controller but no one can hear me talk most of the time. I know the headset isn't the problem because it works
fine when i have it hooked up my xbox 360. Is there any way to maybe fix this or do i have to fork out another $25 for a device that clearly is giving plenty of people problems

 

Im gonna stop by radio shack in a few and pick one up. I don't have the patience that you do lol. I'll post my results

 

Hahaha thanks and please let me know as soon as you can . I have the patience cause I have a modded headset I soldered but I rather use the real deal .... Hahah my modded one works better though .

I've read about this too, and I've bought a 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable, and also bought a 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack.

I'll test both with my Astro a50's and post back here if it resolves the mic distortion issue.

 

Me to but I been lookin into it and I see that this adapter that comes in the box has a 3.5mm male trrs end..... I can't find a damn cable that goes from 2.5 trs to 3.5 trrs.... Maybe my theory is wrong but several people claimed that they fixed it this

i got a 2.5 to 3.5 mm cable off ebay as my tb x1 cable would not fit the stereo adapter socket.

that didnt work.

so ordered the official one from tb with inline control from play.com to see if tjat works

 

Didn't work, as in it didn't stop the crackling? Or just didn't work at all?

 

It's not a cable issue because people with the new xbox one headsets from Polk, etc are having the same issues and they just use a direct 3.5mm cable already.

I've had audio crackling and controller disconnects just using 3.5mm headphones as well.

 

Ugh ... Gotta be either firmware / patch issue .....

Think the problem is the 3.5mm adapter itself.

I got a blackberry cheapo earset from a phone and that works on the adapter, the microphone from the tb doesn't.

Comparing both it looks like the 3.5mm connector has an additional ring around it on the cheapo headset so assuming this is how the adapter separates it.

Wondering if one of those 3.5mm adapters would work converting the plug but don't fancy having that hanging out too.
