  1. Maya details


    Today during the Killer Instinct EVO 2014 Panel Maya was revealed. Below is everything we know about her so far:

    • Still has twin daggers named “Temperance” and “Vengeance”
    • Her daggers will be the bread and butter of her offense
    • They will be used in all of her punch-based normals
    • She can throw each of them independently and quickly after each other as they rebound off her oppenent
    • If you miss with a dagger throw you will lose access to all the moves associated with it until the dagger is retrieved from the ground
    • All dagger associated attacks will be temporarily disabled while in this state which will hinder offensive options
    • The daggers level up with consecutive hits
    • When the daggers level up they will gain new properties until you miss a throw
    • At the highest level you can combine the two daggers that can be used as a homing, unblockable projectile.
    • New stage called City of Dawn set in South America

    Maya is my favorite as well. Fulgore is already coming but he's a must too. MAYA MUST COME IN SEASON 2.

    I buy today the second season and I don't see Maya in the character roster its said starting with TJ combo and Maya?

    It seems that every new character aside from the original 6 has something unique about them (outside of their instinct), which is making the original 6 characters look old hat in comparison. Spinal has his skulls which steal meter, Fulgore has a unique meter,
    and Maya has weapons that can be lost, as well as powered up independently. It's as if more time and attention has been given to the new characters than the original six had.

  6. Not only the characters themselves, but the stages too. I think it's because DH had a strict deadline to meet, so didn't lavish as much care and attention on the original 6 characters (and their stages) as they might have really wanted to do. All the characters
    released since have their own unique traits (outside of instinct mode), and better looking, more detailed stages.

    If what DemonslayerSara and II Nemesis94 II Say are true than I think that means I'll have some really cool stuff to look to, but that's IF we have some characters that have yet to make their return come back.

    All the characters have something unique -

    Jago - Around the World

    Wulf - Rabid Doubles

    Thunder - Combo off throws, throws in combos

    Glacius - Ranged doubles

    Orchid - Linkers into linkers

    Sadira - Double jump and air autodoubles

    Spinal - Skulls system

    Fulgore - Meter system

    @Stefraki I don't know why people think the others are bland in comparison... they all have something...

    And yes, it's true that many of the season 1 characters are "normal", but frankly, if we ONLY had weird character "builds" who would all be as challenging to play as Fulgore and Spinal then a lot of people would just not play, because their fighting game
    skills aren't up for the challenge of crazy mechanics.

    I also personally love having both kinds, I main Sabre because I've always had a thing for werewolves, and luckily he's easy to play at the same time (would have picked him no matter what), but I also like going in and trying out some more advanced characters
    and get a little better and fail a little, and then jump back to brainless scratch/bite your face of... love the variation

    Agreed add their Instinct mode in it and I can see how uniqe they made some of these characters.

    Also if you want to break further down: some have faster normal than others, some have a lot more options with range and so on.

    Maya I imagine has just a completely new style with projectiles, other than throwing her dagger I don't know if there's much more to her than that.(not saying she isn't uniqe enough already as this alone seems to make her very different from the others
    because of what happens if she looses the daggers)

  11. @Stefraki: But that's my point. I don't want there to be only weird character builds from now on, that makes the newly created characters seem very distinctly different from the more "normal" original 6 characters. Weird character builds should be the exception,
    rather than the norm, and that's the point I was getting at. That I have trepidation that the weird character builds for the newly created characters are going to be the norm, rather than the exception. That was the case for Spinal and Fulgore, and it's looking
    like the same is going to be also true of Maya. Hopefully Combo will be a more "normal" character build though, in line with the original 6 characters. I also love the variation, I just don't want there to be a clear difference between the original 6 characters,
    and the ones who came afterwards.

    In any case, I think the point about the difference between the quality of the stages is certainly a valid one.

  12. I didnt say the originals have nothing unique about them i meant the newer charcters for me that are released seem more fun to play and tj already looks like his going to be pretty fun but thats probably just because weve had the other characters since launch
    and so on
