May Update Why Do All My Games Require Multi-GB Updates?

So I updated my Xbox One and now all my games which are on disc require very large updates and can't play until they are updated. This is about the last straw, I'm on Hughesnet and any update is very difficult and time consuming and uses up most of my
bandwidth credit for the month. Example I own Gravel and the disc and it now requires a 7.8 GB update?!?!?!?!?? and until that update is done I can't play the game. I have made multiple attempts to download this update and it is taking DAYS!!! Why is the update
sooo large? Its almost as if I'm downloading the whole game... And this is just one game and my whole library requires updates so my box is basically useless. What happened to the days when you bought a box and the games and just played??? This is a crock!

    :)

I understand your pain. Most deveklopers add new content skins and features to most games. Also some games are updated in terms of technology to further enhance the experience. The disc are the bare bones game without updates etc.

    Hi there!

Some developers will issue large updates due to the issues that need to be resolved for their games. Some could depend on what the players have found and what could be improved. Sometimes they are new content that are being released for the games and will
    require larger updates.

    Hope this helps!

I have multiple complaints but the core issue is that I was playing games one day then updated my console and now I can't.

if you are only going to play offline I suggest setting your Xbox as your Home Xbox then setting it to Offline mode.

you need to connect to the internet to set it up but once set you can disconnect and play offline.

    Designate a Home Xbox

once that is done, go to System > Settings > General > Network Settings and select Go Offline.

you should now be able to play offline without worrying about updates eating up your bandwidth.

if you want to play online again you will need to reverse the last process.

I think I figured out the issue and its not good. The console dumped all my games and it was looking to reinstall them from the web for some reason...not a happy camper with XBOX. There has to be a way to have a stand alone system that isn't so integrated
with the web for people who don't play games online. Not everyone believe it or not has high-speed internet or wants or has the capability to play online games so its authoritarian to force people to update games that play just fine by requiring them to update
if they don't want or need to. Now I have a brick for a game console

Why does the May 2023 dashboard update limit me to pinning TWO groups to the home page?: I have had several groups on the home page for as long as we've had groups. Just got the update, and it appears to limit me to no more than two groups. This is bad. Nay, it is evil. You put up a...
