May Update Now Available

Dedicated servers are for party chat, not specifically for voice messages.

 

I haven't tried sending voice messages on Xbox 1 yet because I'm busy except on weekends, but I have listened to Xbox 360 voice messages on Xbox 1. This is intriguing because Xbox 1 has different audio codec and hardware architecture to Xbox 360. The ability
to check voice messages on Xbox 360 smartglass and Xbox 1 smartglass would be great but not essential for me as I always slip in free time during weeknights. It's funny how Voice Messages is the main discussion in this thread, because it has been greatly anticipated
by many Xbox fans, it has been top of the feedback sections on the official feedback site too. I love being able to send messages now on Xbox 1 console in more ways than Morse Code aka txt.

Whatever the case, it's the BEST Xbox news I would say, this month! I love the ART and MUSIC in voice messages. You may hear the dog barking in the background of the voice messages (I call that music lol) and other things perhaps. I don't really like textbooks
I think I've sent more txt messages on Xbox 1 than I ever have on Xbox 360. I do more than enough reading everyday thank you! Now I can listen to an actual human rather than reading computer txt! Love it.

Yes, I voted already but I doubt that my vote is going to make a difference because such a large demographic of gamers love the vibration feature and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft see people like me (a.k.a "those people that don't like the
vibration feature") as nothing more than a nuisiance

While I don't mind receiving text messages from randoms asking a question or something, I don't like being flooded with text messages and voice messages.

I don't want to block communications with anyone at all, but I will have to if things get out of hand (which I hope doesn't happend).

Lei, every vote counts whether you may think so or not, and I highly doubt MS views you as a nuisance, although I hope people who send you messages don't become a nuisance to you.

 

Any one else not able to turn their Xbox off via the smart glass app when I fallow the directions via the update

There is no option in the smart glass app it just says automatic login like it always says no option to turn on or off???

No, on the Xbox One, if an update becomes available, it generally gets rolled out over the course of a couple of days - some may get it immediately, while others may not see anything for up to 48 hours. This helps keep Xbox Live from being bogged down.

 

@DarthVicious77 Make sure your console is up to date with the May update. Make sure you either have Xbox One SmartGlass or SmartGlass beta installed on your phone and the app is up to date. Your console must be set to instant on mode. If all is well, tap
on the button to connect to a console. You'll see your console name with a moon looking icon next to it (assuming your console is on standby). Then you'll see an option to turn on the console. It make take a few moments for your console to actually show up
on the app, I've noticed that with my own.

Also make sure you have SmartGlass connections allowed in your console settings.

 

Like Darth Vicious, I also am not seeing the option to turn the Xbox on or off in SmartGlass. I've followed the directions exactly. My console is in Instant On mode. I have the most recent update (it says "last updated 5/11/15"). I've tried re-downloading
SmartGlass and I've tried it on three different devices. I've tried hard resetting the console after leaving it unplugged for 30 seconds. I have the box checked to allow SmartGlass connections. It doesn't work.

2 my Xbox is always in instant on mode

3 smart glass ap is runing on a I phone 4s

Will try it on my android tablet when I get home

To see if it's the phone or the Xbox
