May have shut down in the middle of an update, how can I fix?

Hello everyone! This Xbox One X (from 2019) was in perfect working order until two days ago, where at 4AM I saw it's light flashing after being off for several hours (I recently had a power outage and feared the same while I was sleeping), so I held the power button until it was off. Last night I tried to play a game, and while the xbox was powered on for 20-35 seconds nothing appeared on the tv (input not detected), and with a chirp from internal it shut itself off. I have tried restarting, power cycling, unplugging, etc., but I truly believe I must have shut down in the middle of a system update rather than a fan/heat shortage and bricked the console.

I see links for offline updates to an Xbox One X, I bought a USB capable of such thing, but how do I (HOPEFULLY!) restore my xbox? How can I find out what OS version it is so I download the correct files?

Hi, could be a problem with the USB or the port.
Did you tried connecting the USB to each port on the console?

If yes, please try using a different USB
And just to confirm, make sure to format it as NTFS. If you use a different file system the Xbox is not going to recognize it

If yes, you only need to follow the steps and download the files under the "All Xbox consoles (except the original Xbox One)" label

Hi Josef, thank you for responding! I've downloaded the file onto the USB correctly and got to the page on the xbox where I can provide an offline system update. However, when I plug the USB in and click to update, the loading bar does not move whatsoever, even after several minutes. This console is also plugged into the wifi with an ethernet cable and had no issues downloading files before. Any advice on why this could be?

Nevermind, the xbox completely shut itself down while I was in the middle of a game and then when it turned back on, everything seemed to work again. Hopefully the update they are going to release will fix these things....

I have not seen an error message at all... perhaps it shows up too quickly before I can read it when it shuts down? I unfortunately am in the middle of a 60 work week right now, so the soonest I'll be able to check is Sunday afternoon. Appreciate the help, and hopefully together we can fix it. To me it looks like it somehow shut off as it was updating, but I could be wrong
