    May 16 2017 update killed my console


    After receiving the may 2017 update on the 16th my console restarted after dl of the update and now will not turn on after troubleshooting its determined not a psu issue but the console its self. Xbox support referred me here to see about a repair.

    May Update Borked my Console

    That's really unfortunate. I've never had anything that bad, but I will say, every month when a big update rolls out, it does break things on my console. It's not anything to the point that games won't open or the sound is broke, but I'll get things like
    my notifications not working, messages won't load or send, my Community Feed won't load or only shows the last hour of it in a continuous loop, or all of the Clubs I'm in will break. Sometimes it's also caused it to look like I've removed friends (I'll see
    "Add Friend" on their profile) even though I never removed them. This will usually fix itself after a week or so, but it's not fun having to deal with it every month when a new update rolls out. :/

    Hopefully support can help you. I'm just asking as you've probably tried but did you do a hard reboot (holding down the power button until it powers down then powering back up)?

    In any case, I hope they can get it squared away for you. Good luck!
