    Gamers as I am planning to gent a console in a weeks time, I need few queries clarified from this forum. I want to know the maximum size of external hard drive supported in one USB slot in Xbox one. I was informed by the help desk team for Xbox that any
    hard drive above 256 gb is supported as long as it is USB 3.0. I have a 16 TB Western Digital My Cloud mirror which I want to use for storing games and for other entertainment needs. Also I would like to know the number of gaming titles in Xbox one S VS PS4
    pro.

    Does it make sense to go for A console or wait till Project Scorpio is launched later this year. Is there a way I can use Xbox One S as a private NAS with my WD 16 tb My Cloud Mirror.

    New External HDD works with Old xbox?

    External (USB) hard drives will work on any model Xbox 360 in the same way a USB Flash memory. Regardless of the size of the hard drive, the X360 will only use a maximum of 16Gb of that memory. The rest of the memory will not
    be available.

    You can use external storage on Xbox one, but it must be an external USB 3.0 hard drive. Flash drives are not supported as a storage device - they only work for video playback. The minimum size of HDD is 256GB, there is no upper limit. You can install
    all future games to these hard drives.

    Buy an external hard drive. It must be USB 3.0 and a minimum size of 256GB. The maximum is 16TB. You can install your games to the external and move games and off your internal to the external drive.

    Just to add a little more info. The Xbox One only supports external USB 3.0 hard drives with a minimum capacity of 128gb (was 256gb), and a maximum capacity of 16tb. You can also use up to 3 external drives connected to the Xbox One at any one time.

    The maximum size of a USB Memory Unit was raised to 32 GB a few updates ago.



    Flakey USB drives that work on one port but not another indicate something marginal about the drives. I'd find another flash drive to try.
