Max : the curse of brotherhood, games with gold or not?!

Hi there,

Just noticed that on my console that this game shows up in the games with gold section and displays as "free" untill you select it to "purchase and download" then it says you are going to be charged 14.99$...so...is it free or not , is this a mistake? Either
way?! Thanks

Free Games With Gold - NOT FREE

It was shown as free in the UK.

However, as the game was one of the first listed with the GwG program this could have been an error.

 

Games with gold is trying to charge me.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood was a GwG title in June of last year (I believe); however after seeing your thread I checked around and found quite a few blog posts referencing the current unexpected free offer most recently as of 40 minutes
ago.

Since I've previously purchased this title I cannot see the current price; however, its possible from the console the price has not yet been updated; are you able to view it for free at the marketplace webpage @ Max: The Curse of Brotherhood kaufen – Microsoft Store de-DE

If you can see the free price here then you can simply choose 'Buy Now for Xbox One' and it will become available for download on your console (or automatically install depending on your settings)

 

Hi, no its not free on the marketplace website and doesn't show on the games with gold section on the site either...just on the console, and show free under the icon for the game but want to charge after you select it...

 

Thats very odd -- perhaps it was a pricing mistake or not supposed to go live yet. As I mentioned I saw quite a few posts related to it being free for download and several places showed the website as well.

Yeah that's where I first found out about it too

 

I also see it on the console and it is marked free with gold but check out is 14.99

only time will tell they may remove it or change it to free.

Are you sure you are reading it right?

It won't show free if it is game switch gold which it isn't atm

It is probably under the deals with gold which explains the 14.99 price

It has the gold laurels also

 

ngochphi - It does show it as free and part of the games with gold. But it's not actually letting you purchase it as free.

 

Is anyone getting any results on this. Maybe if somoone from Xbox could give us an answer??

 

Yes it shows on mine as FREE also with the price struck through (crossed out) but when click to download it tries to charge - this is misleading descriptions act under UK law

Yeah same here in Quebec, if an item is more expensive at checkout than labeled the lowest price prevails, an incorrectly priced item under 10$ becomes free and if it is over 10$ then it is marked down an additional 10$ over the lowest price between checkout
and label

 

I spoke with a MS rep regarding 2 problems and both I got fobbed off on - first was game not working and after some ridiculous steps even wanting me to connect to a mobile hot spot like that makes any difference... just gave me the game companies email address...
then the 2nd they tried to defend this game mentioned above FREE as a trial then lots of other excuses and finally that was intended for japan... lol - its showing on a UK console in UK for FREE - that is covered by UK LAW !!!!
