matchmaking option needed so players can jump into Horde matches that are shorthanded

There's a problem getting into Horde matches where people are committed to doing waves 1 - 50, more often than not the entire team disbands within the first few waves.

Seems reasons that make people quit right away;

• they don't like the map - quits before first wave begins
• they don't like the group for whatever reason (for instance, maybe they don't like the class balance between players, no scout or engineer, too many snipers or heavies, etc)
• they fight over fabricator and where it goes and end up playing tug-of-war with it - again, quits before first wave begins
• they quit the moment they get downed and someone doesn't race to pick them up - rage quitting
• they quit after finishing their bounties, often after the 20th wave

What makes the problem even worse is there's no matchmaking for that group to pick up more players, players can invite people privately over XBL with a game invite, but that's it. It isn't enough to rely on. There needs to be a matchmaking option that allows
players to jump into games in progress that need extra players, and there needs to be an XP and/or credits incentive for those that do (conditionally, they should have to help group finish wave 50 or else people would just join and quit non-stop for free XP/credits).
It might also help to design a few Horde Bounties around coming to other Horde groups aid.

It might also help to give XP/credit bonuses to those that stay in a Horde match short-handed, currently score multipliers are only beneficial to full 5 player Horde groups. The end of match full group survival bonus multipliers should instead be factored
to reach the same score by just factoring how many are in the group at the beginning of the wave and the factor of how many survive. also, again, if the group is short handed, that should provide I believe a bonus for XP/credits, this would definitely help
people stay in if when people begin to quit it gives them a reason to stick around for extra XP/credits instead of everyone disbanding one after the other.

Join in progress mode

From my experience I'm pretty sure in Gears 3, in matchmaking Horde, you can only join in session to freinds and recent players. Whenever you search for a match you are always put into lobby then wave 1. Whenever someone quits your Horde, they will only
be replaced by friends or recent players.

This would be the same as Gears 2 ranked Horde. In Gears 2 social horde there was join in session for anybody.

 

Anybody else tried it out yet?

You can drop in/out of any of your friend's horde games at any time on any horde wave. I do it frequently when I want to shoot a couple enemies and then jump into matchmaking.
