Matchmaking issues - xbox360

Hi, could anyone explain exactly how XboxLive matchmakes in online multiplayer games? I'm UK based, yet I always find myself in lobbies full of South Americans, and suffer the lag and connection issues you'd expect from that scenario. This occurs across
the board, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, Doom3 or indeed all Doom games, Black Op2 (though less so with BO3 it seems?). I have no such problems on my Xbox One, am always connected to european servers on that machine. My weird concern is that the matchmaking looks
at your gamertag in some way and goes off that. Yes I'm , no I'm not based in the Andes. I can't think of any good reason why I always get plonked in a lobby full of (usually) Brazilian dudes and dudettes who just lag their way round the screen
making most 360 MP games unplayable for me.

Any help or clarification would be much appreciated, cheers in advance

Matchmaking??

I am also having a matchmaking service alert which I play on an xbox360 but bought an xbox one for my son recently who plays at his mother`s house .will this affect xbox360 because my name is on both .

 

Matchmaking Issues...

Is anyone else running into the issue of being placed on a team with 3 people against 5 or more and having no one else join the game at all. 50-count team vanquishes take like 30 min to complete and being on the short handed team is just unfair.

Matchmaking tends to be based on how many people are playing that game on the system; this goes for any gaming system, honestly. Some of those games you mention are a little bit older, and there is generally going to be a lower amount of people playing those
games on Xbox 360 than on the Xbox One. For the most part, it's based on how many people are playing that game and where the system throws you in.

It sounds like there aren't a lot of people in your region playing those games on Xbox 360, and you're being thrown into matches or lobbies with those that are playing at the time.

If you haven't already, you can try
opening the ports for Xbox Live to see if that helps out with the lag issues you can sometimes see in these scenarios. Since you have an Xbox One, though, this wouldn't be a long term solution. Only something to see if it would make your experience better.
Since you are in the UK, it's likely you either have Virgin or Sky as your internet provider, and they tend to give devices that do not like port forwarding with two Xbox consoles connected.
