Master Chief Collection: Halo Nightfall won't play.

Having a similar if not the exact same issue. I have the hard copy of MCC, installed the Halo Channel, and used the code included with the game to get Nightfall. When I open the Halo Channel and go to Nightfall, the only option it gives is to Buy Nightfall.
Even when I hit that button though, it takes me to Nightfall in the MS Store and says I already bought it. Even so, it won't let me play it, it still says Buy Nightfall. WTF?

 

Exactly the same as Lord Rahl, Ive powered it off, uninstalled, reentered the code, everything and yet it still asks me to buy it even though it says its installed.

Sorry to hear about the Nightfall issues. Let's try a few steps to see if we can get this issue sorted:

• First, if you have a capture card plugged into your Xbox One, please remove it because you will be unable to watch Halo Nightfall for DRM reasons.
  
• Make sure that there are no guests signed in to your Xbox One console.
• If you purchased a physical copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, please ensure that you're signed in as the profile who redeemed the Halo Nightfall 25 character code. If you purchased the game digitally, please ensure you're signed in with the account
  the game was purchased with.

If you are continuing to experience the issue after trying the steps above, try the following:

• Navigate to My games & apps from the homepage of your Xbox One console.
• Select the Apps tab and then navigate to the Halo Channel app.
• Press the Menu button and select Manage app.
• Select Uninstall.
• Once the Halo Channel has uninstalled, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
  
• Once your console is powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Wait 5 minutes and then plug in your console.
• Power on your console and navigate to My games & apps.
• While in the apps tab, scroll to the right and select The Halo Channel under the section labeled READY TO INSTALL. Select Install.
  
• Once The Halo Channel app has installed, navigate to My Games & apps and select the Halo Channel.
  
• Under the Featured tab, select Play.

The answer is they don't know. The reason is that the user interface for XBOX ONE is ***. Put apps in the apps menu. Make apps operate like normal, for Christ's sake! If you're going to make something better why don't you fix the problems with the original
instead of creating new ones trying to be different. When I pay this much for something it better *** work correctly.

 

I TOO, am having this issue, how surprising. Yes, I did try the hard restart, wait 5 mins trick, let's be clear about this, IT DOES NOT WORK! Please stop telling people to do this "solution" because this, like literally ever SINGLE thing and game I've ATTEMPTED
to do or play on the Xbox one, DOES. NOT. WORK!!! Xbox.... Microsoft.... Please fix your everything with this god forsaken system. Thank you yet again making me regret NOT buying a PS4.

 

I danced like a monkey and tried these steps. It didn't work, no surprise there.

 

This is the worst *** mess of a console that I've ever messed with. I've been using a PS4 since it launched with zero problems, I get an Xbox One to play Halo and it makes me want to pull out what little hair I have left.

The UI is absolute garbage, it makes more noise than a dump truck, games take all day to install, and stuff that I've paid for doesn't even work.

 

Trying to watch the Halo Nightfall episodes. Used the code that came with the game, uninstalled the Halo Channel, re-installed the Halo Channel, tried a hard reset as well. It's on the profile it's supposed to be on and I don't have a Capture Card plugged
in. Still getting the option to "Buy Nightfall" whenever I select view episodes. Is there a fix for this yet?

 

We can't get Nightfall to play. either. Did all the uninstall/reinstall stuff, no dice. Can't buy it because xbox store says I already installed it. When we try to play the content on www.halochannel.com it plays about the first 5 seconds and then fails
with an error.

Help. Seriously, how many layers of authentication/codes/BS are involved that a stupid downloaded file can't play?

 

I've contacted support and they say that this issue is emerging right now and that they have many contacts concerning Halo Nightfall and that their engineers are working currently on that. Hopefully It won't take long or an extra 60 GB patch to resolve it.

Thank you for the information. When trying to view Nightfall, are you signed in with the profile that originally redeemed the Nightfall code?

 

I left my Xbox One unplugged for about five days. Just turned it on and Nightfall is working now.
