  1. Massively flawed reputation system

Ok so, i'm sure most of you have seen one or two stories about how players are having their rep desecrated due to other users blocking/reporting them.

I'm here to add mine and hopefully spread a little awareness on the subject.

I'll start with, I love halo, always have. I love them all. (yes reach & 4 included) now, I also love a little banter, and yes I have both sent people messages and received them myself. Some a little unprofessional but hey, when someone betrays you for a
power weapon, or camps, glitches out the map etc....you get a little annoyed right? well, I just tell them.

So anyway, I got Gears of war a couple of days ago, began playing no problem, I did quite poorly if i'm honest (probably let my team mates down a little) hey! I was rusty! but yeah, no worries there. So my friend comes online a few hours later, all ready
to hop online with me, and what happens? we're stuck in the matchmaking lobby. Why? we don't know, I was playing fine just now right? it must be something to do with him? we wait and wait. nothing.

Only when our next friend joins the party do we finally understand "hey ginge, why is your rep on avoid me?"...what? what do you mean? so I look and wow, so it is, what the hell? after a while I leave the group and allow my friend to search solo, Boom, he
finds games no sweat. I then begin to search solo like I was before he came online, and! nothing. I cant find a single game. I load up halo (my life) and I could of cried. I couldn't find a single game in any playlist.

So, I log on to my profile on xbox.com to find that I've had 3 bad communication feedbacks in the last 6 months. 3, in 6 months? and I can no longer find a matchmade game on any game that I own. I hop on to the chat with Microsoft, "yes nothing to do with
me, you need to go to the enforcement forums on the website" right fine, let's take a look then.

    I see a bunch of people all asking why their rep is low, and how they can fix it, asking, what Microsoft are doing to prevent the abuse of this system. every single one of them had the same scripted reply given to them. It went along the lines of;

"Your feedback has been lowered because of violations consisting of but not limited to (commence list of random things)" and at the bottom give them links to the code of conduct to refer to. The questions these people were asking simply went unanswered,
some of them, were pretty *** important too. For example "how am I supposed to get my rep back up, when I need t play online games without being reported, if I can't actually find a game due to having low rep..." they didn't answer them.

Regardless, I do what i'm told and write my own post to see what can be done. It may take up to 24 hours for your post to be accepted to the forum or declined by a Moderator"

Right, best keep it as charming as I can so they don't just refuse me then. I wait a good 30 something hours...(sleep, work, so on) NOW! It gets worse here. I go on my smartglass (xbox companion app for those who don't now) and it tells me my rep is green
again! so happy, like, really happy. I couldn't wait to hop back on Halo. I ask my friend to log on and check on his friends list and double check, yep it's all good. We arrange a night on games, I get home....Can't find a game. I check my profile just incase
    and there it is..still red.

I get back on to Microsoft support (sorry this is so long winded) I tell him my concerns for the rep system, and how my rep hit rock bottom instantly without warning, how the enforcement team haven't got back to me. He makes a note an says he'll push my
concerns through to them. Now, about half an hour later I get an email saying they've contacted me HOORAH! time to see what they say! I forgot to mention that I wrote them quite a detailed few paragraphs on everything, the abuse of the feedback system etc.
    I

asked them for a decent reply and not a link to their conduct, or a link to how to improve my rep via matchmaking.

I was appalled. They gave me the exact same reply as they did to everyone else. My detailed question/query was given the same reply as someone who simple said "can you please tell me why my rep is so low" I was so annoyed. I still am, infact, that was just
an hour ago, I got quite angry and sent a reply back with a copy and past of my original post asking them to actually read it this time. I told them I've seen many cases like mine and I will spread the word that they clearly don't give a ***. So, if you see
me anywhere else, don't be surprised.

I really, really hope my reputation is sorted by October 27th, please, god. have a great night all (in the UK here) this may not be 100% halo and I apologise.

TL;DR - well, you kinda do need to read it. Skim, at least.

    :)

  2. Flawed Reputation System

So basically anybody can file a "FALSE" complaint against anyone and impact their ability to find multiplayer games.

If they are not verified, how does this protect players that are not doing anything wrong?

  4. Massively flawed reputation system

    Ginger rebel 47,

The only way you can get into games when you are in an Avoid Me status is by searching for friends who are in this status OR playing online co-op with some of your friends. There is no definitive amount of games to play to improve your status but the main
thing is not receiving any negative feedback. I completely understand you frustration with team killers and players betraying for power weapons, but your response was wrong none the less. Rather than verbally retaliating against those players, you just need
to submit player reviews/feedback against those players and leave the abusive verbal comments out of the equation.

Unfortunately though, there isn't anything that can be done from this support forum. You'll have to refer to your Enforcement page for any issues. If you have any questions regarding the Xbox One reputation
system or how to improve your reputation, I recommend checking out the Xbox One Reputation System page. In order for you to check how many reports you have received in the last
6 months, go ahead and check out our Reputation History page while signed in. There is a Case Review process on the Enforcement page, but if you don't have a Case Review option then
your only other choice is posting in the Xbox One Enforcement forum . This is the only other way to reach the enforcement team about your reputation. I know this isn't exactly the answer you were looking for.

  5. The frustration is the catch-22 Xbox Live puts players in. You can't improve your reputation without playing online but you can't play online because of the reputation. From everything I have read the last two days since my reputation started toggling
between red and green, "avoid me" is essentially a death sentence with no chance of parole. It also looks like there is no warning that action is imminent; it just happens. Very disappointed that Xbox Live is dead to me now but my wife will be happy that
I don't play online anymore and spend money on Xbox games.

  6. EG x thee elf, I urge you to re-read my post. I have been to the enforcement page. I have seen my reports over the 6 months, I really think you should re-read.

I'm not here now seeking my rep to be returned to normal, intact I went to many forums last night for the sole purpose of spreading the word about this flawed system. Telling people to play less, or less competitively. They are at risk of being attacked
by users who solely want to ruin the experience of others cia blocking or reporting for no reason.

But...you'd know this if you read my post. Its exactly what the enforcement team did just slapped some links on me.

Again, you'd know that if you read my post.

At the moment I appear to causing a stir in the forums, so, if you don't mind, I shall go fan the flames a,little more. Good day.

P.S tell your ambassadors to stop re-directing people to the enforcement page, I'm pretty sure it isn't even moderated, ots just a bot replying to everyone with the exact same scripted line.

  7. Hey Ginger rebel, you have one of the best posts here. I have had "Avoid Me" reputation for 3 and a half months now and have only come out of it twice. Both times I played on pins and needles, making sure I wasn't doing anything that could be considered
unsporting or any of the other reportable offenses. Hell, I wasn't even teabagging anyone. But because I play so well, others still reported me and I fell back to "Avoid Me" and have been there since.

Over this period of time, I have spent a couple hours talking on the phone to customer support supervisors and have written 6-7 posts on the Enforcement forum. Of course, the customer support supervisors were of no help and told me to keep trying the Enforcement
forum. So, like you, I've written well thought out, detailed posts to their forum. Of the 6-7 posts I've written, 0 have been allowed to be posted to the actual forum and they have responded twice via private message, both times with the same exact automated
    copy/paste message.

So at this point, I wonder what recourse do we have? Customer Support can't help us and Enforcement Team refuses to even engage in conversation about the reputation issue. How can Microsoft justify restricting players' online matchmaking privileges indefinitely
when they are not breaking code of conduct or terms of service? The majority of the players who are hit with "Avoid Me" reputation aren't cheaters and aren't unsporting players. They're victims of a broken reputation system. So the question is, how long until
Microsoft acknowledges the broken reputation system and removes or fixes it. How many victims and complaints will it take?

    Massively flawed reputation system

    Hey mate,

We can only give you what we are given and what is available on the enforcement page (which is the correct page). We would love to tell you more, but there is honestly nothing more we can say at this stage Massively flawed reputation system :( We've raised this issue ourselves, so if/when
we have more, we'll give it straight to you.

Trust me, we want nothing more then to help you and the other users affected through this and to get it sorted.

    Cheers

  10. DENAZ, if you really want yo help then please read the following. This would be great if you could do them.

    - Do not let this thread get locked, spread the word.

    - bring this thread to your supervisors attention.

    - you say you've asked these questions yourself, please, ask again.

    - let the enforcement team (if there even is one) know that they cant just use automated responses. People want to actually talk to someone.

Brad, thank you for your reply, I can't even imagine how frustrated you must be. Your situation os vastly worse than mine, and I'm pulling my hair out.

I think my biggest question is (and it deserves caps)

WHY ARE WE TOLD TO GO TO THE ENFORCEMENT FORUMS, WHEN NOTHINGS IS DONE AFTERWARDS?

if someone could enlighten me as to how the enforcement team actually helped them, that would be great. Credit where its due and all that.

Xbox ambassadors are just regular gamers,we have no supervisors nor do we have any say in wether a thread is locked.

As mentioned, the issue has been bought up,all the info we have has been posted.

  12. Thank you Daft I wasn't aware of this. However, if my initial post had been thoroughly read then I'm sure I wouldn't of been linked the code of conduct or the enforcement page yet again. This is nothing against you guys, it's great you take the time to do
this. But if the knowledge you are attempting to bestow upon me has already been mentioned (by myself specifically) then I think it's best left alone.

Are we saying that no one from Microsoft answers these forums?

  13. Massively flawed reputation system

    Ginger rebel 47,

I only provide the links as a point of reference as a community volunteer and because Microsoft Support isn't the same as the Xbox Live Protection & Enforcement Team (XBLPET). When Support chimes in they are going to indicate the same thing stating that
all actions should be take to the Enforcement History page or using the console ban/suspension forums. We can't control what someone does on their end, we can only lead you to where you should be going. You have to keep in mind that Microsoft Support works
in the US and typically works M-F normal business hours. So you will likely see a response in the next 6-12 hours.

I did take the time to read your post which is why I pointed out how you play while in a Avoid Me status. I hope you have a speedy reputation recovery but there isn't anything we can do on the support forums for you. If you wish to take legal action you
can refer to Hoz2K4's post but given that the references have been provided and legal discussions are taking place, this thread will likely be locked.

    Hi All,

At this point with XBLPET's horrible response routine and no other avenue of assistance (other than taking it to social media) XBLive does have an arbitration clause in the TOS, so gathering evidence and mailing it all with the dispute form seems to be the
    only course of action.

Sad that its this difficult to get any help from such a large company, but what can we do?

Its worth a try. Gaming is a big part of my life, it keeps me busy in the winter and takes me away from my daily problems, so when it gets wrecked by something so trivial, I have to try to fight it.

Good luck all, and thank you elf, I know you're doing what you can Massively flawed reputation system :)

  15. God bless you Hoz2k4, if it's alright with you I'm going to add you later on. The only decent piece of information I just managed to claw out of an advisor is that people can leave you positive feedback (I didn't know you could do that on the xbox one) so
I shall add you and leave you some good feedback. Hopefully that will inch you towards a better rep.
