Mass Messaging recent players shoud be added on the Xbox one

M2AF Is one thing I never want to see in my inbox. Mass messaging is stupid. If you need to invite 32 or more people at a time to a game then I think you have a problem.

Glad this isn't on the xbox one & definitely don't want it back.

 

Only creepers mass message. Keep that nonsense away. Good riddance to M2AF garbage.

 

If mass messaging makes a comeback I can see a lot of people with enforcement actions against their account for spam; as it should be. I should "suck it up"? Naw, you should, when your communications privileges get taken away. No good reason to mass
message random people.

I agree. I never send out more inv's than about half the lobby size I'm in and that's if the lobby is near empty to start with. That way, when people do show up, they also have the opportunity to send out a few inv's
to their friends as well. I believe that's being considerate of my friends.

I've been on the receiving end of mass inv's from people who spam half of their F/L. Typically, all they care about is getting that lobby filled up as quick as possible. Who makes it in time and who might be 'left in
the lurch' if more than the lobby's capacity shows up doesn't matter much to them. At best, it's poor etiquette... but IMO it's just plain inconsiderate.

You can always send out a few more invites after a few minutes, if needed, but you can't take them back if you fill up.

Well there's an etiquette for online gaming.

Friends don't send spam.

So when you send people messages asking them to join you in playing a game they don't even own... you're kind of giving yourself away.

 

No just no it only encourages non gamers to send more spam.

i love how its 'that one person' that everyone has blocked who is sticking up for wanting mass messaging/invites.....

Also, please clarify how mass invites do more bad then good - as far as I can tell, you get an invite and you either join or you don't. The ONLY difference it makes is just how many people might show up. That's it! If you don't like large crowds, I suppose

I know because I'm mostly a lone wolf gamer. I don't care for large parties (or large crowds for that matter) of people I don't normally play with. They do more bad than good because I consider "M2AF" type messages as spam. Other than alerting friends of
a GT change I'm not a fan of them. Mass messaging can be easily abused.

 

If someone changes their gamertag it shows on the activity feed on the xbox one so the whole M2AF thing doesn't need to be used for that any more.

 

Cool!! I didn't know that. I love the activity feed for that.

 

yeah nobody looks at activity feed on xbox or steam

You actually didn't even answer my question. You can't tell from simply being a lone wolf gamer that an invite I send you was sent to multiple people. To be clear, I'm talking about actual invites, not a message asking you to come, like with the M2AF, which
in itself, for me at least, is a thing of the past, since I can just use the activity feed for that, make 1 message, and then share it.

And Undead, you're absolutely wrong - I view and use the activity feed ALL OF THE TIME, as do many of my friends - I know, because they respond with likes and comments and shares on many of my activities, as I sometimes do with theirs. As a matter of fact,
every time I log onto XBL, checking the AF for new things is 1 of the 1st things I do (as well as checking my messages) before moving on to play games or watch movies.
