Mass Effect trilogy remaster could be headed to Xbox One

Personally I don't see EA redoing the trilogy for the One. Simply because they want to move away from the Unreal Engine (UE3 powered the three main games). Would they need to license it again to redo the games on another platform? I don't know the licensing
rules for the Unreal Engine.

Plus I'm not sure I'd want to replay the third game without mods. Here's my ending with the MEHEM and Extended Anderson Conversation installed.

@VOTE i think u will find the guys at mass effect at BIWARE are taking a chunk of the engine from the guys doing dragon age the next mass effect will use the frostbite 3 engine they already said that so id expect mass effect 1,2 and 3 to use the same

 

Then they would essentially making three new games if they were to do them in Frostbite.

They would need to completely reprogram the games instead of upscaling them.

 

Also looking forward to Mirror's edge 2, which i also believe is using the Frostbite 3 engine.

Just look at the in game footage for it.

Read the article! It is a known fact what Bioware is talking about is not an remastered trilogy. They said "IF" they continue this project it will be an entire new concept inside the ME Universe. This means they could use an entirely new engine.

They also stated that it will in no way what so ever have anything to do with commander Shepherd.

Also @ Dirge MassEffect 3 Alternate Ending is and always was free.

I read the article and watched on ign! I do not need a link to know that Bioware stated multiple times that it WILL not be a remastered trilogy instead a completely new Concept inside the Universe of Mass Effect.

As for you proving to me they will use frostbite 3 that is all fine and dandy as I never said they will not, nor did I give an theory on what engine I think will be used.

I was touching on what VoteDc said.

So if they were to do it in frostbite3 he said they would basically have to make entirely new games.

Therefore I stated the project will be a new concept in ME universe so they can use an entire new engine. That is if vote is correct and they want to dump Unreal Engine.

With the team hard at work on a new ME do you really think a remastered 1-2-3 will be created.

Just because two guys sitting around at the office say, hey a remastered ME would be cool! And an ign guy overheard an wrote a report Does not mean it will happen.

Plus and please do not get me wrong as that is one of my favorite series, only a fool would buy the game again just to play with better graphics.

Also sorry if I sound sour at all it is not intended tone, I'm just tired of this remastered game talk, out with the old in with the new. People did not pay 500+ dollars to play games they have already spent soo many hours playing!

+1 Mass Effect New Universe. -1 for every year the titles have been out, for Mass Effect Remastered. IMO

IDK... 343i seemed to do a pretty good job with Halo: CE Anniversary - Halo 4...

Please don't get me wrong, but as RPGs go this IS my favorite series, it really depends on the price if I would buy it again to play it with better graphics... but I don't appreciate

I don't want to sound sour either... because I do agree that I didn't pay $500+ to play games I've already played. I also think they should focus forward and work on new content
so we can have the next gen experience our consoles were designed for. However, I also feel that there are a select few games/series that actually deserve a digital remaster and this is one of them.

Lets ot forget they can take the core from dragon age then re do it all plus the same studio dont have to do it look at tomb raider they had 2 dif

Sorry for the fool comment, it was not personal, more towards just being silly. And you are correct it does not mean it wont happen.

Eitherway im playing mass effect on X1 and hopefully so are you guys. Only time will tell which ME though.

The only alternate endings exists on PC thanks to user made mods.

 

Well thanks for making that clear. In respect it was not an alternate ending... But i was right about it being free!

 

Free is also good and to their credit, the Extended Cut fixes a lot of the issues with the shipped endings. So many in fact that you have to wonder why they weren't like that in the first place.

Personally I like to head-canon the Citadel DLC as post ending content. It's a far better resolution to Shepard's story than what the shipped and Extended Cut provide.
