I knew Vote loved the ME series, but she took my perspective of "fan" and ripped it a new one.

 

The mods can't do anything about the level glitch.

It's up to the web-team at Microsoft to fix things. So likely we'll see three years of minor cosmetic improvements, some new badges for Ambassadors, and then they'll fix the Level issues with the next forum reboot.

 

from what i heard, it's all 3 games with all the DLC on one disk. it's safe to assume it will be the same achievements with new challage one's.

 

Makes perfect sense CLOUD you should definitely get into the trilogy mate, definitely one of the best games collections I have played.

 

Ah I see. I saw it and thought maybe you had one game that was a spin off title or something. Still, nice collection mate. My fave type of collectible game is those that come in metal cases. Don't know why, I just love them lol.

M0Z thanks mate. I will give it a whirl when it lands. I don't know what put me off it in the first place. I'm not a huge space fan. I have played games with space aspects before but for the most of it, I tend to avoid them. Is this game based heavily in
space? Or is it like Halo? Based on a ship and you touch down on planets or environments for levels ect...

I honestly know that little about this saga.

 

CLOUD think more Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (if you ever played that) without the turn-based element, meets a third person shooter... its quite unique in its style and gameplay really.

You wander around different planets, space stations, ships, no actual flying you just choose a destination from a map and jump from destination to destination.

Both Mass Effect 2 and 3 had demos on XBL so well worth downloading them to see what you think.

ME1 is more RPG esque whereas 2 and 3 are much action shooter based...

 

M0Z I cant recall the last Star Wars game I played (LEGO aside). I think it may of been force unleashed. I'll give it a looksee

What is key about playing the first game is not to go in expecting a third person shooter.

The first Mass Effect game hides the dice-roll behind a third person shooter cover. Just like Dragon Age II hides the dice-roll behind that of a hack and slash. I always thought it weird that Mass Effect is hated for it but DAII (which provides less interactivity
for the combat) gets praised for it.

So yes, if you go in expecting a shooter, which the combat in 2 and 3 became, you'll be disappointed. Personally I find the combat in the first to be the best of the series but I also know that I'm pretty much alone on that.

 

That is kinda what I thought this was Vote mate, I saw Mass Effect as a 'gears of war' type game but with less hectic surroundings, but saying that, I never paid so much attention to it either so its completely over my head and under my radar. I did hear
that there was an ending somewhere (please don't spoil it anyone lol) that fans were not happy with or something. Though, you hear that for a lot of stuff nowadays so I have open minds about stories.

 

If you do play Mass Effect 3 then do so with the Extended Cut DLC installed. It's a free download and expands the endings to make things a little more clear

While not perfect it does fix most of the issues I had with the endings as they shipped.

Sorry for the late response guys. Had some 2-step issues this weekend and mothers day pretty much cost me a day at the in-laws -_-

So let me get this straight. ME3 shipped with an ending that fans were not happy about so they patched in (via DLC) an expansion t the ending? That about right?

I will be sure to grab that DLC if I get 3. Generally I like to play a saga from start to finish. I have tried coming midway into games before and I find myself going back and forth or excessively reading google to understand whats going on so I will likely
start at 1 and work up. Thanks again for the link

it forgot the reason most people played the games, for the characters.

The Extended Cut fixed most of that as I said, others issues aside Bioware did a great job with the DLC.

My ending of choice these days though is the MEHEM for the PC version, which you can see in my sig. Add back in the extended conversation with Anderson and I leave the game wanting to play again.
