Mass Effect E3 2014

It wasn't much but a short segment of conceptual prototype footage was shown for the next Mass Effect. Not going to lie, I am a bit intrigued with how they will utilize the Frostbite engine and even though they were just conceptual prototype images, one
or two of the environments had that sort of uncharted planet type feel I adored about the original Mass Effect.

Oh yeah and that beautiful Mass Effect music also helped to peak my interest.

A new IP was teased as well with a few conceptual images of its own with the Mass Effect music playing in the background, but being that it's a brand new IP I'm sure the music was just used to set the tone or used as filler for the reveal.

(By the way, hello again guys! My great walls of text are not returning, but I'd just thought I'd share this. /insert old thumbs up emote here ^_^)

:)

What Are You Expecting From E3 2012?
I for got to add Mass Effect 3.
E3 is in june and mass effect 3 comes out in march. I really don't think there will be anything that has to do with mass effect 3 since it has already came out by the time e3 has started

Mass Effect E3 2014

Bioware burnt my interest in their games with Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age II, and Mass Effect 3.

They've got to prove to me now that their games are worth buying. They got struck off the 'must buy' list a while ago.

It looked more to me like an Advertisement for BioWare than a new MASS Effect game, most disappointing that we don't really have anything new to ponder than we did yesterday. It appears that they're still spinning the "we listened to the fans" reels. Nonetheless,
I'll continue to enjoy playing the current trilogy and will probably buy whatever they pass off as "fresh & new" whenever it happens to be released...Mass Effect E3 2014 :)

Rewatching it again and I'm pretty much in the same boat now. I think it was just nostalgia taking over and the usual E3 "hype" that comes along with anything new given the state of stale big releases as of late.

I'm not expecting anything from this reveal, if it can even be called that. But I will stand on the sidelines watching what unfolds from this with a bit of interest because Mass Effect is still my favorite IP in gaming.

Wasn't sold on the Hudson bit about "What the fans want". We've all been down that road, and for varying opinions and reasons. For myself I just want that sense of adventure and exploration from Mass Effect 1. That's what originally got me hooked back when
I saw the X05 and X06 videos.

^That's mostly how I see it right now. Although I can't speak for anyone else, I do feel that the main reason I loved the Mass Effect series as much as I did wasn't just because
of the story and the exploration aspect. It wasn't just because of Shepard and it wasn't just because of all the characters S/he came to know.

I kept coming back (read as buying the next game) to Mass Effect for several main reasons above all others. I cared about my character (Shepard) and what happened to her/him (I
played several different characters). I cared about the people Shepard met... he## I cared about every character in the series to some extent. What happened at the end was important, but what was most important was what happened to them at the end.

If they had removed any one of those aspects, I would at least still had some feeling of interest and investment in a new game/series because of the remaining ones.

One of the big statements made in that video is "I think fans will be surprised at how far we've gone" <or close to that. The way I see it, there's such a thing as gone too far.

To channel Mordin Solus...

Everything from previous game gone. No feeling of connection to new game. Remove Shepard, still feel connected by friends and crew. Keep Shepard, remove friends and crew, still
feel connected by Shepard. Remove Shepard and crew... still... some sense of connection by previous games' impact on new game's setting. Remove all, remove much of the connected feel. Appearance of previous races establishes some familiarity... but not tangible
feeling of connection. *sniff* Problematic...

One of the new images that's got my attention is this one http://puu.sh/9mdq7/797d9a3c05.jpg which some around webland are suggesting point towards this new game being based inside a brand
new galactic environment due to the obvious difference in portrayal of The Milky Way Galaxy. I'm not too sold on this notion, mainly because the new footage shows that the Krogan are likely to make a return. Having Krogan co-exist outside our Galactic Neighborhood
seems unlikely, unless they are going the route of "Mirror Universe" ala Star Trek, which I guess would be one possibility (I hope not!). A more intriguing possibility would be that, although this image appears on the surface to be a variation on the current
trilogy's 'Galaxy Map', this could actually be a "portal" of some sort which perhaps means that BioWare are introducing Time Travel into the MASS Effect Universe.

I know it's a far out theory, but BioWare do say how "fans of the series will be surprised 'how far' it's going", and they STILL haven't confirmed a timeline on the next installment, could this be the reason why? Maybe we'll have to venture back/forth through
time to influence the outcome of events this time around in addition to dialogue choices? When we're given so little to ponder it's easy to tailspin off into the realm of wild speculation, but this image does look to me to be a step or two beyond the "concept
art" stage and definitely appears to be more of a "portal" than a Galaxy Map upon closer inspection. A "trans-dimensional" portal is also a possibility and would certainly open up some interesting exploration prospects as we're promised here, who knows really
but I'm finding the continued black-out on new information both frustrating and intriguing just the same...Mass Effect E3 2014 :)

10. I'm with you somewhat. Although I'm finding more frustration than intrigue, myself... I just wish I could find that one word that I haven't felt yet, but is quite possibly the most important... excitement.
