Mass effect andromeda quit working

My game will not load any farther after pushing A. music plays and the circles in the lower right spin but nothing else is happening. I have claimed all the planets to 100% and defeated each architect. Most of the side missions and I was heading back to
the main mission of finding the mothership. I piloted a stop to the nexus before heading out to the mission system and when the jump animation ended everything froze. I have tried restarting the game, restarting the xbox and then the game, but nothing. I get
through the intro splash panel and then hit A to continue which leads it to the just play music and not give the connected and load the game menu.

Help. is there anything I can do short of erasing the game and reloading? I would really like to not lose what progress I have as I don't care to play games multiple times through.

Maybe set in the Andromeda galaxy, hence Mass Effect Andromeda perhaps?

 

Hey Jimsham! Since you've tried power cycling the console, reinstalling the game will be the next step in troubleshooting. Your progress in the game should be safe in the cloud, and will sync with your console when you launch the game again. Give it a shot

Alright. I deleted and reinstalled the game. it also installed an update. However, when I tried to start the game it wouldn't even get as far as it used to before stopping. Now it comes ack with the following, " Something went wrong. Give it another try...
entering 0x80070b4 at xbox.com/errorhelp ..." I entered the code at the web address but it wouldn't return with a result. Any other suggestions?

Alright. I have uninstalled and installed multiple times now. Last night I uninstalled from the external drive and installed onto the internal. Also when installing this time I selected to install the update at a later time. When it was complete it would
still not run. First I get the message in the bottom picture (Just getting...) then after about a minute I get the message in the top picture (Something...). Doesn't even load the beginning splash screen. This is what I have been getting after the first uninstall
and I have probably reinstalled about 4 times now (3 to external and this last to the internal). I have been powering down the xbox after uninstalling and after installing to see if that would make a difference after the first go round. Thanks for the help
in getting this running again.

Also, I have just ran a few other games just to make sure that they would start and all have been fine.

Hey JimSham! To clarify, after you uninstall the game are you
power cycling the console before installing again? Additionally, you may want to try a

factory reset (be sure to select the "keep games and apps" option) after uninstalling the game. Post back and let me know!

I was just doing the restart but for the last couple of times I have done a full shut down and let it stay off for about a minute or more. Sometimes overnight. I will look into the factory reset option.

 

ok here is the current story. I went and did the factory reset and installed. I lost my installation options of my deluxe Edition Pack and Deep Space Pack. started the game and it fixed the issues of no splash screen. It loaded to the main menu and then
synced, (hoping my installation extras come back because of the sync) Hit resume and it gave me a save data error. "Unable to load your save file because it is linked to game content that is no longer installed (deluxe edition and deep space) please reinstall
and try again."

So I backed out to see if they can be reinstalled but both of those options are not available in the game manage area. How do I get them back? I do not know if I still have my receipt but I will be looking for it.

It seems that the game should be working except for that issue now but I really don't want to start the whole thing over without my 'extras' ... sheesh.

Loaded multiplayer and it still shows that I have deluxe edition but that and deep space (which supposedly came with the game) still don't show as content ready to be, or currently, installed.

 

Hey Jimsham! Is there another user on the console that may have the license? If so, try signing in as them and installing the needed DLC. Post back and let me know!

Nope, I am the only user on this.

 

However, you gave me an idea. I bought a copy for my son at the same time for his system. I made (copied) his user profile as an additional profile onto my xbox to see if what you were suggesting could carry over since I know his game is still 'good'. When
all was said and done I was able to install the missing files back into my system and get my game to load back up. Success!
