Mass Effect Andromeda Now available to Preorder Digitally

Why would anyone preorder a digital copy of the game, any game? It's not as if they are going to run out of copies on the server.

Yes i have preorder 3 games inJustice 2, Mass effect andromeda, and tekken 7. but i did not get a punch for tekken 7 is it not eligible?

Still can't see a reason why you would want to pre-order it digitally and not save money. Ohhhhhhh that's right, "America", where you don't have competition on game prices, and are regulated by your governments need to pander to big companies. And what will
you tell all the people in America who have ridiculous data caps.

That being said, got to get the game, just spend your money wisely people.........

 

A few extra dollars for you, £20 for us on this side of the Pond, is half way towards another game, which is why i said about the difference in "Merica" as you call it....... £20 is substantially more than a few dollars.!

Off course the vast majority of people will be sleeping, as they will be mainly adults with jobs and children at school. LOL. Lets take one person out of the millions buying it shall we !!!

I was pointing out the flaw in Jersey's Logic, as the bonus is the same whether physical or Digital.... no need to pre-order digital if you are receiving nothing extra...!

Oh and about having it at midnight......................think about all those poor physical people that will have it upto 2-3 days early because it has been sent out too soon..... just check twitch for the game..... Oh, sorry have to wait till release night....

That said i love the game, so buy it and support them i say

 

J3RS3Y, what are you saying? Are you advocating that we buy the digital versions for all of these Deluxe and Super Deluxe preorder items? It's confusing, because when I re-read your post, you're clearly stating that you're buying the dital version (ie, "no
more standing in Midnight release lines for me") but at the same time you seem to be suggesting that digital downloads would take *too long* given one's internet plan (ie, "the game download is rumored to be close to 50+ GB. I don't know about you but I'm

Surely the advantages of the physical version is faster installation and ZERO bandwith (notwithstanding day one patches). In which case are you advocating the benefits of physical over digital? As regards the game itself, I think it's safe to say that Andromeda
is my *most hyped* game of 2017! Outside of any super surprises for the Scorpio launch, I can't see any game eclipsing this one in 2017, so naturally I've been on board the hype train since it was announced. Would I love to play the game at 12:01 AM in my
time zone? Hells yeah, I surely would, but here's the thing...

I've preordered the 'Nomad Diecast Collector's Edition' for $US195 from the Australian equivalent of GAMESTOP (ie, EB Games) and it will be despatched 24 hours prior to release. However, owing to the vagaries of the postal system, I may *not* be playing
my rather expensive physical edition until the DAY AFTER release! Even worse is the fact that NONE of those Deluxe or Super Deluxe preorder items are part of *my* physical package. Which means if I want them, I'll be paying even MORE from the Microsoft
store! So, why did I opt for physical?

Because it's MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA! It's a physical *proof of purchase* and that dinky Nomad replica will be taking pride of place on my display cabinet! Because the physical version is housed in a smexy white Steelbook! It's something I can hold close to
my heart ❤ However, playing devil's (or digital) advocate, I can't honestly say that I'm *not* swayed by the allure of even more things to make my purchase complete (eg, "Pathfinder Casual Outfit - Look your best while aboard the Tempest and docking at different
friendly locations" is a no-brainer for me), so yes, MONEY WILL BE SPENT. I shall enjoy this game because I CHOOSE TO. Because it's Mass-Freaking-Effect Andromeda and these games burn brighter than any others in the gaming universe!!!

So, whether or not I'm there on day one or day two, physical or digital, doesn't really matter. Because my ❤ is there already!

And you are correct. I am advocating the digital preorder. The physical copy will still need to be downloaded to the console. Disc data transfer will be faster than online but you will still have a considerable time to wait. 50+ GB is 50+ GB.

I'm just waiting for the final file size from Bioware to pull the trigger. I might need to get some more external HDD space. Too many games! Is that a bad thing?

Oh and to the friend across the pond, We adults, in as someone put it "Murica", have jobs and get paid time off. My particular job gives me 40 such days. As a huge fan of this franchise, I plan on playing the heck out of this game ASAP. Oh and no caps on
my ISP if your are willing to pay for it.

Despite your recommendations for the digital version, I personally feel that the physical version provides a tangible product that would appreciate over time. It also serves as a reminder that the physicality of my things does not perish unless I choose
to sell it on or give it away, whereas the digital code itself (ie, bits and bytes) can be expunged at will. Additionally, I can't see how downloading a HUGE digital file is preferable to the fast and efficient transferral of bits and bytes from the game disc.

One last thing: I checked that link to Amazon and it's evident that the Nomad replica they're selling is only 1:64 scale. Mine is 1:18 (translation: it's bigger), and when you factor in what I'm paying for all of the above, it's actually the SAME PRICE as
the impermanent digital version and the smaller Nomad replica. Of course, I will ultimately be paying for vanity items (or DLC), but that's what I've signed up for!

I see this link even comes with the steelbox. Just no game disc. Nice BTW. It would make a nice addition to any display case.

So technically I could pre download the game now, play at 12:01 AM on March 21 and buy this collectable and box and get the game disc on the cheap a few years down the road. No scratches of course.
