Mass Effect Andromeda: 4K HDR Visual issues

So I have been noticing some weird visual issue with Andromeda so far. Firstly the game looks kinda pixelated, grainy, and blurry especially at distance. Environment looks very bad. Like bushes and stuff look like ants are crawling all over them. Its hard
to explain. Like I can see pixelated lines and fuzz all over everything. I have turned off film grain but it looks the same.

Also when taking screenshots or game clips with my Xbox and TV 4k and HDR setting turned on it looks like the below image.

With HDR turned off and setting my Xbox to 1080p I get normal looking screenshots and gameclips.

The game just doesn't look right to me. IDK if its just a Bioware thing or if MEA was meant to look bad? Anyway hopefully someone else knows whats going on. Thanks.

your tv setup doesn't support hdr10

HDR for games is not a feature that all games support if you carry out an internet search for this you should be able to find a full list of games that use this feature. Off the top of my head I know Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, Hitman and Mass Effect
Andromeda all support HDR

If you are having other issues with HDR please follow the support guide below. A couple of quick things to remember with 4K and HDR mode is that you should use the HDMI cable supplied with the console and that on the television you very often have to change
a setting to the HDMI port to allow it display 4K and HDR images.

Do you know Mass effect Andromeda does not run in 4K and HDR on Xbox One . It only does that on PS4 Pro. Forcing that in your TV is not the same thing as running in 4K.

It's written as "Displayed in 4K" and not "Running in 4K".

The PS4 Pro renders in 1800p (3200 x 1800) then upscales the rest of the way to 4k (3840 x 2160).

 

in response to not being able to" run in 4k" I am having the same issue but my 4k television can have hdr on all the time and will only run in 4k when it is read but will up convert just like playstation does when not true 4k. I personally think its stream
related but it was late and my roommates were sleeping and if I don't stream I cant use my G933's

Its like this with all games actually, in fact I returned the xbox one S and decided to wait on the scorpio for this reason. Was expecting games that support hdr to look better and not only did they not but on 2k17 trying to go to park it would actually
boot to home and kick out all together.

 

The game doesn't run at 4k native it runs at 900p on XBOX one, from there it's upscale to 4k hence why you're seeing more 'ants' and 'pixelated' graphics. The game essentially takes the resolution of the game and makes it bigger, much like when you try
to resize a JPEG image and the bigger you go the more pixelated it looks. If that doesn't make sense imagine you inflate a balloon half way, then you draw a happy face with different colors, when you're done drawing you decide to inflate the balloon more
as you keep inflating the drawing on the balloon will become distorted and you will notice empty spots; a similar thing happens when you upscale a resolution.

There's nothing wrong with your TV and I recommend you continue using 4k settings on your XBOX as the colors will be much richer.

As for the screenshots only taking about 25% of the screen I had the same issue, but I think it's been fixed. Again I think this is related to the upscaling of the game though ME:A is the only game that seems to suffer this bug. I believe the game upscales
the video image to 4k but since it's really running at 900p, when a screenshot is taken the game doesn't bother saving the upscaled screenshot, instead it just takes the screenshot at 900p and places it on the canvas even though the size of the canvas is 4k.

So yeah 4k isn't much until project Scorpio comes out and XBOX one can run games at 4K natively. Until then you will continue to experience more pixelated images. Trust me I had the same issue with The Phantom Pain.
