    Mass Effect 2 disc 1 suddenly not working


    I've gotten over 40 hours into ME2 already and its great to play again but all of a sudden it says I need to insert the disc or clean it(which its only been in the xbox this whole time but I did anyways, didn't work) and so I eject it and insert it agian
    and it telling me this game isn't backwards compatible. I really think you're wrong there xbox... I'm using disc 1 but I still tried disc 2, I've changed regions, the internet is on, and I hard reset. What can it be? Like I've said, I have already played the
    game for over 40 hours, its weird...

    Hey,

    • Check the disc to ensure it's clean and without scratches and give it another go.
    • If the issue continues, press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console until it fully powers down. Once your Xbox One powers down, boot back up and give it another shot.
    • If the issue continues, try temporarily switching your Xbox One console region to a different region (such as United States, United Kingdom, Canada, etc) within the Xbox One system settings and insert your disc to try again. After trying this step, be sure
      to switch everything back to the region you're in.

    If the Mass Effect 2 disc continues to give you that error message, fill out our Backward Compatibility Survey to let the appropriate teams know. Keep us posted! :D

    I have an update, after not being able to play the whole day I decided to try it again one more time before bed and suddenly its working agian... I would really like to know what happened and why it decided to be dumb for a day.

    That doesn't work with Mass Effect 1 unfortunately. It was a new feature introduced with Mass Effect 2.

    To those who keep saying the importer problem isn't a big deal...
