Marty o Donnell for Halo on the One ?

I read today that Marty o Donnell was fired by Bungie, while this is sad news I would love to see this guy back with Halo, he is Halo, from a soundtrack point of view, it may never happen, but we can hope.

Just throwing this out there my fav composers are Marty O Donnell and Jesper Kyd.

Then for movies Hans Zimmer.

Could Activision be pulling the strings in this? There is almost no one left from early Bungie anymore except Jason Jones. Everyone else before the Halo era has pretty much been terminated or left. This seems really bad for the future of Bungie and especially
Destiny.

I said this elsewhere but I wish him the very best of luck. He has a huge amount of talent and I have no doubt it will be utilized elsewhere.

 

Yes, he's very talented, I wish him the best too, those soundtracks he gave us were fantastic.

 

Marty is an absolute genius. Shame on Bungie for firing him, but I suppose there's more to the story than we've been told.

Either way, I'd love to see Marty join 343. The soundtrack for Halo 4 was really good, but it wasn't on the level of Martys work. There have been tons of games over the years that had beautiful soundtracks, but I don't feel like any of them reached the level
of the Halo series. It's part of the experience. The Halo 3 soundtrack is one of the greatest pieces I have ever listened to. That initial announcement travel still sends chills down my spine because of the music. I think he could really evolve Halo 5.

If he has no desire to go back to Halo, or if 343 isn't interested, then I'd love to see him join up with Naughty Dog. Uncharted 4 with a Marty soundtrack is already getting me all hot and bothered.

 

@ Dante, I agree, his music really did enhance the Halo experience, and it really showed how good they were in Halo 3 ODST, the music and that game were perfectly matched, the game was not the best Halo, but the music was perfect.

 

I see there is rumour/speculation on Twitter this morning that he is in talks with 343?

It wouldn't surprise me.

 

I saw that too Lofty Who, lol at that line, it rhymes, but yes, it would be good for 343i and Marty, it's never good when a person loses their job.
