marketplace (regards avatar props)

this regards getting free/paid props for my avatar. if i go here (Avatar Store) on my computer can i get props for my (xbox one) avatar without needing a credit card or paypal as a payment option? if so, how would
i go about it, exactly? i can't afford a used xbox 360 right now.. is an xbox 360 the only option where i don't need a payment option?

Hey Th3 H3m1 R4m, you are absolutely correct about xbox's responsibility, and it is safe to buy the hammer burst/lance if you like. The last report I saw was that if you bought the lancer before the armory came to being you can keep them. What the avatar
toy armory did was take the weapons and make them more (for a lack of better terms) more kid like. All weapons have a strange color scheme like red and orange or blue and yellow. They also fire fake rounds that look like nerf bullets, or in the case of Halo,
needles that look more "friendly" than the in game versions. This is so people can get their weapons but still know they are fakes, thus keeping xbox safe and customers/parents happy

This is because the Lancer and the Hammerburst look too much like real world weapons.

The Needler is an obvious fantasy weapon and those in the Toy Armour are coloured in a manner to make it clear they are not real.

It's an odd choice really but I guess they wanted to be able to cover themselves for some reason.

 

I tested out downloading a free prop item via the web browser of the Xbox Avatar store, and it did seem to confirm the "purchase" with my credit card.

It seems that a registered payment source is required to make purchases on even free items on the Xbox store. A PayPal account or Xbox gift cards are alternative payment sources to use in place if you don't have or don't wish to register a credit card.

It is free to create a PayPal account, although I am unsure if Microsoft actually checks and requires you need to register a valid credit card in your PayPal account to complete a "free" purchase. Still, I'd give PayPal a try -- create an account for free,
link it up to your Xbox account, attempt to download a free item, and see what happens.

how would i get a prop with an xbox gift card, exactly? are these the ones that say (1.e.) $25.00 and you pay $25.00 for it? i have an amount on my xbox one, between $10.00 and $15.00. i can't use credit cards or paypal.
