March Update 5.1 Surround not working

I had the update earlier today. I'm using a Onkyo Dolby-HD Amp, but I am still unable to get any surround sound from either HDMI or Optical out. I've been informed that 5.1 hdmi was straight out of the box and only optical was not supported at release.
Not sure how true this is, but if so why am I unable to get any surround sound from the system, through either method even following the patch? Help would be appreciated

any updates on the dolby digital 5.1 surround sound update that is integrated? pre forza5 launch the buzz was how they developed with polk on 5.1 digital surround sound.. than i read a recent article how the new patch has a surround sound driver update as well.. i recently bought a 5.1 sound bar setup(love it) but forza actually sounds better thru the tv than the sound bar... but bf4 sounds holy crap different on the soundbar..

i am sure you read the articles but for those of you who havnt..

i am wondering if it is a audio out feature thru the hdmi or what.. or is it soley for the headset... because i thought the higher end($200+)headsets were wirless and 7.1 surround sound.

Help. I just did the April update. Sound still messed up.

I am having an issue since the April update, but I didn't connect the two. Suddenly I am not getting 5.1 either. My surrounds just stopped working. Not my receiver.

You need to enable bitstream first in the settings, then you will have the 5.1 options available.

Same issue here. 5.1 worked fine with the USB tuner prior to the NXOE update. I've had to update two xboxes and both times immediately after the update 5.1 OTA functionality was lost. Surround is enabled in my TV settings but it has no effect. Surround
still works fine for games, movies etc.

Not everyone has Digital audio also not everyone has a surround sound... i have a 5.1 surround sound that is brandnew... as i stated in my own post they are supposed to release a update with twitch streaming and roomers have it the audio fix will be with
it along with a few other things... apparently early 2014... usually when they say early it means around march or april...

Bump.. My optical straight into the 5.1 surround system with settings of Bitstream out, and Dolby Digital encoding, which worked prior to April update, what's the go??? I didn't but a 5.1 system not to use it..

I have a 5.1 surround sound & DTS or uncompressed 5.1 works fine for me but it keeps defaulting to uncompressed 7.1.
