Mapping from Elite Controller dropped by switching profile

I have two profiles on Xbox One console, and every account has other Controller mapping settings saved.

As example: Main account
Conroller preset 1 for GTA 5
Controller preset 2 for Fifa

Guest account
Controller preset 1 for Battlefield
Controller preset 2 for Rainbow Six

Everytime when changing from main account to guest account, the mappings are dropped.

They are furthermore in the list, but not assigned at the preset buttons.

This problem exist long time and i was hopeful that it was fixed anytime.

Hey sqrlley,

You can button map a standard controller as well. It's not unique to the Elite controller, it's only that the Elite controller has the ability to switch between two different profiles while you game by just flipping a switch on the controller from Slot 1
to Slot 2. You can make more than one profile on a standard controller, but you would just need to open up the Xbox Accessories app anytime you want to switch profiles.

When you open the app, it will show you a picture of your controller. Select "Configure" and then select "New Profile" you can name it however you want. Button map using the drop down menu you see or by holding the button you want to change and then you
press the corresponding button you want to change it to. Once you've set up your button mapping press B to back out and then you can select the dropdown menu saying "No Slot" for the profile, from there select Slot 1 and it should now say Profile 1 or whatever
you named it to.

I hope they have some ability to add controller profiles to be switched in the snapped settings tab. Even if I get the Elite, 2 isn't enough imo

Thanks for reaching out to the forums with this situation. Can you provide us with a bit more information? Are you sure your controller is fully up to date?

Update your Xbox One Controller. The controllers preset button lay outs are assigned to the profile that is currently signed in. Please let us know with a reply a bit more information to be able to determine how to best assist you.

Maybe this happen because "guest" it's not a real account...every profile can have 2 preset buttons layout but i think this is not allowed to guests.

The Controller firmware is up to date: version 2.3.2388.0

It also happend sometimes when changing the Xbox profile, that on the preset buttons are empty settings called 'Profile 1' and 'Profile 2' have been set.

The own saved settings are in the list, but they are dropped from the presets.

Unfortunately it's not possible to make screenshots or videos with the capture function from Xbox at menues, so i cannot show while I'm doing it.

The error can be reproduced at any time. It happend each time when changing to the other Xbox account.

 

The second account at the console has an own mailadress, so i guess it's an full account.

We suggest at this point, since the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a

Soft Factory Reset (while keeping games and apps, and have the controller plugged in)
IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

Are the Controller mapping settings also stored in the cloud?
Cause if they gone lost by Soft Factory Reset, i would life with the issue.

The two controller mappings should be saved to the cloud and able to be uploaded with your account wherever you go. I would give that suggestion that Nestor gave a shot, and let us know how that helped in resolving the issue.
