Map editor maps will be cross platform

7:45 Alex Hutchinson mentions maps will be cross platform. Not sure all cross platform as in PC,XBOX1,ps4,ps3,360 all together? Or just 360 and ps3 together? XBox1 and ps4 together and pc alone. Or a check box option for all then very limited cause of
ps3 and 360 wouldn't be able to handle all the exploding barrels and tons of extra stuff. But if someone on 360 or ps3 published a map. Then someone on either of the others goes back and adds more to it. I'm sure Socom players on PS3 and PS4 will be happy
with me though. Since i'll be on XBOX1 making Socom maps like Ratsnest and Abandoned and ruins and bitter jungle. Then onto MOH Warfighter maps and probably some Battlefield Bad Company 2 NAM maps as well. I'm sure somebody will make COD4 Shipment. Somebody
always does. Also if the rope rappel is in map editor maybe some Rainbow 6 Vegas library maps climbing in office windows?

Map editor

When I heard that even the Xbox version would have access to the map editor I got really excited! Map editors have always been my thing, this all the way back to the old Age of Empires games. Any game that has a map editor/custom story editor or a world editor of some sort instantly captures my attention. And I have to say, they did a really good job on this one, it is one of the easiest map editors that I have ever come across. The user-friendliness and simplistic UI works like a charm while still allowing advanced things to be created with ease.

Anyone else who has been playing around in the map editor for hours upon hours?

I've just been making my way through the campaign. I honestly didn't ever pay attention to the fact that it has a map editor. So I take it you like the multiplayer? I hadn't tried it yet-I heard from a few friends that the multiplayer was pretty terrible.

COD4 shipment is usually made multiple times by a few users.

Scan from pc magazine article of Far Cry 4. Guess you can change the gravity in the game as well. Can make a moon map and float around. Also sounds like we can make story mode and co-op maps as well now.

 

This is great news. I wasn't even certain there was going to be a pvp offering. The map editor is cross platform? What exactly does that mean? Does this mean PS4 players will be able to play with XB1 players? This would be a first.

 

Or is this map editor for other game modes and not pvp?

I think a bunch of us read into it to much for cross platform for sharing maps. Alex probably worded it wrong and rest of the community got excited. Alex said" gamers be able to share maps across all platforms. But I think he meant just sharing maps on
each console but not cross platform. Hard to say they been very quiet on stuff. Yeah there's new co-op modes. Also gonna be leaking multiplayer news October 30. Cause tons of us want to know if its dedicated servers with server browser like Far Cry 2 or
just lazy match making on Far Cry 3. But they did hype up a season pass of a few more side mission sand what not and big foot. But we can make our own co-op missions and play them with a friend and publish them. P2p? Is that man versus animal? Or peer
2 peer. I hope we can publish vehicles in multiplayer maps.
