  1. MANY problems connecting/staying connected to Xbox LIVE with my Xbox 360 (via Comcast ...

    Hi,

I'm writing this out of pure desperation at this point, hoping that someone has had this problem as well. I have had this problem since December of 2014, and have been with Comcast Internet since well before that (going back to 2010, IIRC). Anyway, I have
been experiencing problems with either staying connected to, or even logging into Xbox LIVE since then. When I do connect, I will usually get disconnected after about 20 minutes. As you can imagine, my Xbox 360 has seen VERY LITTLE play over the last 3 years,
    and with good reason.

I have experienced ALL of the following:

    - 8007274C errors trying to click on any of the tiles in my UI that require getting data from the Xbox LIVE backend (Deals pages, Games with Gold, etc.).

    - 8C230002 errors, usually after logging in.

    - Network stastistics checks will consistently tell me that I have great upload speed (usually 7-11 Mbps), but almost non-existent download speed (.01Mbps). For the record, I just performed a speed test on this PC, and I get 38Mbps down, 12Mbps up, over
a wireless connection as well on my home network, and this PC is roughly the same distance away from the router.

    - XBox LIVE connectivity tests will randomly tell me that it can't connect to Xbox LIVE - I can run it once and fail, but if I run it again immediately, it passes.

    - When I bring up the "My Games" page, several games usually never display the image, and others are very slow to come up.

I have done ALL of the following:

    - Have unplugged/rebooted the console and all of the networking components (Cable Modem, Router, Bridge, Xbox 360) - several times, I might add.

    - Swapped the Ethernet cable with another cable from the Media bridge I have in my Bedroom.

    - Enabled Port Forwarding on my router (LinkSys WRT1900AC) 3074(Both), 88(UDP), 2074(Both), 80 (TCP), 500 (UDP), 3544 (UDP), and 4500(UDP). THe only one that I have been unable to apply is 53, because that is domain lookup, and it prevents any other device
on my home network from doing DNS lookups - so I had to remove it... Don't know why Microsoft would recommend that particular port, but... whatever.

    - Tried DMZ'ing the IP reserved for my Xbox 360.

    - Tried changing my DNS servers to Google's, on both the console and my router.

    - Have deleted my profiles, cleared the console's cache, and re-downloaded my profiles from Xbox LIVE - three times in the past two years.

    - Have tried connecting the Xbox 360 with both the built-in Wifi, and via Ethernet using a LinkSys WUMC710 Wireless AC Bridge; the PS3 that was, and the PS4 that currently is also connected to that bridge did/does not have any problems whatsover, by the
    way.

The biggest drawback to this is that the console can't seem to be able to DOWNLOAD anything. After a dozen attempts (which failed after a half hour), I had to download the most recent dashboard update from last fall and apply it via a USB Memory stick. Star
Wars: The Force UNleashed, the most recent Games With Gold offering, has somehow managed to get to 76% after 4 days trying to download it. I've had to re-add it to the downbload queue about 10 times to get to that.

So here's my question - is this a Comcast issue, and is port 3074 the culprit? It's the only port that I've been able to see any kind of activity on, according to my router logs. I NEED to know if I have to take this up with Comcast, or if there is something
    that Xbox Support can do?

    :)

  4. MANY problems connecting/staying connected to Xbox LIVE with my Xbox 360 (via Comcast ...

So after following the bandwidth consumption being reported by my router closely (while downloading games that I have been trying to complete for days now), I've discovered that while the console was consuming as much as 32Mbps at times, it would also sit
idle for sometimes minutes at a time. Sometimes it would resume, others it would just sit dormant, and if left for 5 minutes or so, the download would abort. So to complete the game download, I had to log out and back in about 8 times.

What I see is that Bandwidth usage (and in turn the response from the dashboard) looks normal, but after 90 seconds or so, things start to deteriorate. And again, bandwidth usage of the download becomes a see-saw, ranging from the 30+ Mbps, down to .01 (which
is what the Network statistics report usually returns). So my bandwidth looks like it's being throttled - possibly by Comcast? I may have to call them next.

Anyway, Xbox Support wants me to take my console to someone else's house... I guess that they too want to see whether it works on another network. Does an Xbox ONE use the same ports as the 360 to access Xbox LIVE? I may know someone for whom might be easier
to bring their console to my house, rather than having to crawl behind my entertainment center to get the power supply for the 360.
