Hi!

i just purchased an XBOX ONE X, and if i check the warranty on my microsoft account it says :

(3 years) Manufacturer Warranty until 01/23/2020. that's not 3 years, that's about 1.5 year ???

I also have an XBOX ONE S which is about 1 year old and its warranty is valid until 01/17/2020

how is it possible that a 1 year old console has almost the same warranty date than a brand new one ??

Console Warranty

Its basically a 1 Year Standard Manufactures Warranty

ie: Its only covers Manufactures Defects

Will Xbox One come with an extended protection plan in the box?

Doesn't really matter for me.. the manufacturer warranty is 1 year, my reciept says 2 years and I didnt pay any extra for it, so regardless it's a free year of warranty

Around here we don't really even have the difference of "manufacturer warranty" and "retailer warranty". But we do have those extra protection plans, but other than that warranty is just warranty here

Contact Sales support, they should be able to fix your warranty date, you will need to send them the proof of purchase for this.

This date is most likely the shelf date that it was actually manufactured from, usually they have upto 6 months shelf life and then auto register, this can be resolved by speaking with the Sales team.

Hi there,

manufacturer warranty is the warranty you receive after the purchase of a product, So if that is one year and you purchased on for example 1. Febr 2020, then it will expire on 1 Febr. 2021.

Repair warranty is the waranty you get on a repair itself. If a repair was done outside the manufacturer warranty, you will receive warranty for the repair itself for a specific period.

In your case your manufacturer warranty is longer, so the repair warranty isn't really useful, since the manufacturer warranty covers the same period (and is even longer)

Im presuming and hazarding a guess that manufacture is 1 year from new and im guessing you get a new guarentee on the repair if it goes wrong again
