    Hi,

    I hope someone can help. Perhaps I am doing something stupid.

    Up to recently I didn't have this problem, it just suddenly developed.

    I have been using manual DNS settings on my Xbox namely Googles DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4.

    This had been working fine until recently when it kicked me out of Xbox live and won't sign in unless I set the DNS to automatic.

    The reason I was using manual DNS is that I am BT Infinity customer and their routers force you to use their DNS and won't allow changes.

    This isn't just a problem with Google, I have tried the OpenDNS settings as well and it does the same thing.

    The network test fails at Xbox Live connection and tells me to restart my router.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Try manual DNS Settings. On your xbox, go to Settings, System, Network Settings, Wired- or Wireless -Network, Configure Network, DNS Settings. Choose manual. Select Primary DNS Server and type in: 192.168.2.1

    I see. Please try setting up manual DNS settings and check if that sorts out the issue.
