    Manditory Update Notification Suggestion


    Hey Microsoft, I'm in Alpha Skip-ahead and love it. However, I don't check this subreddit often, so I'm typically not aware of an update until the mandatory install.

    I completely understand why an update is mandatory to be installed after a set amount of time has passed. However, can ALL users, not just Insiders, get a pop-up notification telling them their console will update in 30 minutes? This way, if the person is in the middle of a game, they know they have about 25 minutes to finish their match, or save their progress? This would help to ensure that no progress is lost.

    Yes, I'm aware of the Series X/S with it's quick resume, but that doesn't work for those of us still on the One.

    If you have "Suggested" on that list and it's enabled, I'm pretty certain it will be that as I had the exact same issue on Tuesday right after installing the latest "Patch Tuesday" update for Windows. After installing the update and rebooting, the ads started. Since disabling notifications for "Suggested" (which didn't even exist on that list before Tuesday's update) I haven't had a single ad notification show up at all.

    No notifications when friends come online/ no alternate profile status's?

    Friend notifications are coming hopefully in the next update:
    xboxonedaily.com/.../friends-online-notifications-system-update

    You can also favorite any friends you want to know about, and then snap the activity app. This will tell you when they log on.

    The status to busy and away, you will need to post that in the suggestion forums, this is a support forum.

    Go to Settings - System - Notifications & actions, find "Suggested" on the list and toggle notifications for it off.

    MS have added this new sender to Windows via a recent update, and all it does is spam you with adverts via the notification system, even if you have "Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows" disabled. At least it's easy to disable I suppose, but it's kinda gross that they would add it in the first place.
