Managing Xbox live subscriptions on two consoles

i bought my first Xbox 1 earlier this yr and set up two gamer tags with an Xbox live subscriptions. Both GTs were able to play online games. No problem. I have since purchased a second Xbox 1 and tried to use one of my existing GTs on it. While most features
in a game are usable any online live, interactive, head to head experiences do not work on my second Xbox 1. Does each console then truly need its own subscription?

Hopefully Getting My First XBox One Today!!!

Hopefully, later today I'll be getting my first XBox One (along with WWE2K18 and a 12-month Live subscription for good measure).

I still also have the 360 and I'm hoping that I can manage two subscriptions at once.....

@Theory of Game is correct. An Xbox Live Gold subscription is required to play any multiplayer games online, regardless of the console. You can get an Xbox Live Gold subscription by managing your subscriptions in your account at
account.microsoft.com/services

 

The account that the gold is tied to can use it on any console. But the gold can only be shared on that account's Home console. The other accounts would need their own subscriptions or be on another console where gold is shared.

 

Thank you for your prompt response. So if I understand you correctly In order to play live on both consoles at the same time on either box interchangay I'll need two Gold subscriptions.

That's how every console works

Only the home console allows every profile to connect with one membership however as switches mentioned

Only the gold profile can roam to a 2Nd console to use gold features

Any other profile can roam but can't use gold features while not at home console however if that console had a separate home gold they can share it temporarily with that profile but since your 2Nd console isn't a home gold only the gold member can be used
on it with gold

The silver free members can only be used on the home console for gold or a friends home gold console temporarily

They can't use home gold features any other wsy

 

im not sure on were to ask this so ill post every were haha ive lost all my subscriptions eg:Xbox gold, EA access, i cant download anything but yet can still play online ive rung my bank all my payments are upto date whats going on MICROSOFT ARE YOU RIPPING

One solution Would be to apply an Xbox live gold membership to both accounts. In the past this would have been the only option to have two accounts online at once.
