    Hello, I apologise if there are too many posts about this, but none of the solutions helped me and my situation is a tiny bit different Manage Payment Options, constant errors in the account section. :)

    There are four profiles on my xbox 360 console, a "family" one that remains in silver status for casual gaming sessions with family and friends in person, typically fighting and Kinect games. "Manage Payment Options" works fine on this account. I have the
    working option of adding cards if I choose to. This account is about a year old and works fine.

    Then there's my ancient account, long since abandoned (I let siblings play and the gamertag was full of unfinished games and it bugged me greatly, I needed a fresh start.) Its at least four years old. Again, the account section works fine on this profile.
    I was able to login and remove an old card no problem. Then there's my girlfriends account, a couple of months old. Payment issues were abundant on it recently, it would freeze whenever she tried to update her card details for a week or so but seems fixed
    now.

    My account, however, is brand new. I created it just last night. I did have an issue when signing up for live (error message during the creating live account process) but I deleted the profile and redownloaded it and was able to then do the free name change
    no problem so assumed all was in working order. This morning, I attempted to add a card so that I could sign up for gold and got an error message "Can't perform this action right now, try again later." No error codes, nothing. I noticed Live was having some
    issues, so I left it and tried to do it again in the afternoon, this time from the website.

    It would take me to a page that stated I had "found a glitch in the system" and grey text below it which I neglected to copy but will if it helps. I then tried to add a payment option via the Microsoft billing page, but despite the fact that I repeatedly
    choose "English (UK)" it never removes the input US state and zipcode option so it is impossible to add my card details that way too.

    I reiterate, there's no problem with MY card as I cannot even get to the point where I TELL xbox my details. It simply will not let me access payment options on this account and I assume it has something to do with the error from xbox while signing up for
    silver and creating the live account last night but I have no idea how to fix that.

    I have cleared system cache, I have deleted and downloaded the profile, my internet is perfectly fine... Help? Should I just wait it out or? Thanks for taking the time to read and respond. Have a great day Manage Payment Options, constant errors in the account section. :)

    How to Manage your Xbox LIVE payment options

    Overview

    You can choose to use more than one payment method for your Xbox LIVE account. The payment options include credit cards and PayPal accounts. You can use these payment options to buy items from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

    The 2-year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract uses only credit cards as the payment option. The other payment options like Debit Cards, Prepaid cards and PayPal are not valid for this subscription. However, you can change your payment to another credit card.

    If it is before the end of the two years and there is no credit card associated with your account, it is assumed you have terminated the subscription, and you will be charged an Early Termination Fee and any applicable taxes.

    It is easy to edit your payment options on your console or at Xbox.com

    Steps to Follow

    Add or change a payment option using your console

    1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to Sign in.

    2) Proceed to Settings and then select Account.

    3) Select Manage Payment Options, and then choose either of the following:
    • If you want to add a new credit card, select Add Credit Card.
    • If you want to use your PayPal account on Xbox LIVE, select Add PayPal. You will be required to enter your PayPal username and password. Follow the instructions to add PayPal as a payment option. You cannot use PayPal as a payment option for the 2 year Xbox LIVE Gold Contract. PayPal is not available in all regions.
    4) After making changes to payment options, select Update Payment Option.

    Add or Change a payment option on Xbox.com

    1) Go to My Account.

    2) Select Payments and Billings and click on Manage Payment Options.

    3) You may be required to Sign in using your Microsoft account (email and password).

    4) Proceed to do either of the following:

    If you want to edit a payment option, select Edit.

    If you want to add a payment option, you can do either of the following:
    • Click on Add New Credit Card and enter the credit card information
    • Click on PAY with PayPal and follow the instructions.

    You can also check to see if your credit card has expired by clicking on My Account. Look for the Payment & Billing section and click on the Manage Payment Options link.

    So, if I read your post correctly you live in the UK and are having issues adding your payment option because of this.

    If the system is defaulting to the US then perhaps you either set your gamertag up with a US account or used a US email address when you created it causing it to default to US.

    You should see about changing the region of your gamertag to UK in order to solve this problem.

    So, if I read your post correctly you live in the UK and are having issues adding your payment option because of this.

    If the system is defaulting to the US then perhaps you either set your gamertag up with a US account or used a US email address when you created it causing it to default to US.

    You can also check to see if your credit card has expired by clicking on My Account. Look for the Payment & Billing section and click on the Manage Payment Options link.

    If you go into " Account Management ", in your Console Settings. There is section " Manage Payment Options. In that sub directory there is an option to remove payment method. Have you tried this? If this does not work try calling them. And like others
    have suggested. Purchase Xbox credits through pre paid cards.

    It's also helpful to try the update on the console and let the Billing Agent know what the error code was, if any.
