  1. Malfunctioning X360 Controller Driver

For a while the windows driver for my controller doesn't work right. While the left analog stick works for example as intended, it thinks that the A-Button is the START-Button and several other buttons don't work at all.

Reinstalling the XBox Accessories didn't help.

    I play on Win 10 Education/University.

    :)

    MALFUNCTIONING CONTROLLER

My controller has decided it won't work with my console anymore, either wireless or wired although it does connect for a few seconds from time to time when I unplug and plug the plug and play lead back into its port.

I've tried multiple soft resets, unplugging and even switching to AA batteries. Nothing, nada, zilch.

I've searched all over and other people have experienced this issue and got past it but whatever I've tried has failed.

To make it worse, Xbox support doesn't understand it either and just insists on a controller servicing even though it could actually be my console.

    Disc Drive malfunctioning

Hello, first thing you should try is a hard reset. Hold your power button for 8-10 secs until the system shuts off. Then unplug the power for 30 seconds for good measure. Plug back up, and give it a try. This is one of the most common fixes for several
issues, and if that does not work follow the steps from this page. Troubleshoot Xbox One Disc Errors

  6. Thanks for the clarification.

For an Xbox 360 controller, the solution we recommend is to re-calibrate the device on Windows 10. To do so, kindly plug your controller into one of your computer's USB ports and then perform the following steps:

    1. In Windows 10, type joy.cpl in the Search box, and then select the joy.cpl result to bring up the Game Controllers
      window.
    2. In the Game Controllers window, select XNA Gamepad, and then select
      Properties
      .
    3. Select the Settings tab, and then select Calibrate.
    4. Follow the steps in the Device Calibration Wizard. Important:
When you're prompted to use the directional pad (D-pad), use the left stick instead. If you use the D-pad, the left stick configuration may be incorrect.
    5. To save the new calibration settings, select Finish, and then select
      Apply
      .
    6. Test the operation of the controller. If you're satisfied with the new settings, select
OK, and then select OK again.

Let us know how it goes after performing these steps. We'd be glad to provide you additional assistance.

    Hi!

It isn't possible to request a free X1S for a malfunction on the X360 console. What issue do you have with the console?

Trouble with Xbox Series X/S Wireless Controller and bluetooth in Windows 11

No luck. Ive tried everything. I don't know if the hardware and drivers are partially compatible with my controller, and that's why it works but it stops being recognized as soon as it shuts itself off or there is something malfunctioning.

The only why to use the controller now is to manually shut it off everytime I stop using it, which is a mild inconvinience.
