Making new account for son.

Hi all,

My son has been using my account/gamertag for a few years but now he wants his own account/gamertag. When i do this will i be able to transfer his games and saves to his account?

You cant transfer between accounts but if you make your xbox home xbox, you can use other accounts on it and share playing games between them. My wife and son have their separate accounts on my xbox and they can play all the games I own on my account.

He may lose what saves and progress that he has made on your profile, but he will be able to do it all again on his own account. It would be like him moving out of your house and getting out on his own. Having to buy his own furniture and household items
that he has been able to get on his own for himself. He would have to establish his own account and progress when he got older anyway, so now would be the time to take advantage of him making something his own. If you did get him his own account just make
sure that you are setting his account up so that it would be protected from being compromised and abused. Here are some tips to get you started.

I think that it's great that he wants to become an individual online and have his own identity. Best of luck to you and I hope that you aren't having to sacrifice your account to him.

Unfortunately no. Nothing can be transferred between accounts. He can still access the games on your account if you set the console as your Home, but he will have to start over. https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox
