Making my Xbox my home Xbox

I have not been able to make my main Xbox even after waiting a year to do so again. I used the three times you can do this to play with my brother on his Xbox due to it being a multiplayer game and than tried to change back to my home Xbox but it wouldn't
let me. Help! Please I can't track achievements and I would very much like to be able to do so again.

Ok test: using your GT when you go to My Xbox in Settings on HIS Xbox, then go to My Home Xbox, it should say 'Make This My Home Xbox' or something like that. If it says that, HIS Xbox is not set as YOUR home yet.Click to expand...

Trouble making this my home Xbox

Hi there,

you could consider doing a full Factory Reset on the console, since the full one will remove the Home console setting too, but before you try that you might want to contact Xbox Support first via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat.

If you want that counter reset then you will have to contact support directly as they are the only ones that can do it. Keep in mind since there is a 3 change per year limit they are not obligated to do it but definitely worth a try.

You can head over to the Xbox Support and ask if they reset your Home Xbox use. No guarantee that they do that but you could try.

As you say you cant track achievements what exactly do you mean? Not having your Xbox as Home wont effect the ability to gain achievements or such.

I haven't been receiving achievements ever since this happened last year. I can't get achievement for games that weren't already installed on my Xbox. Such as Dark souls 3. I've completed the game 4 tines over not a single achievement. Same with Rocket league,
I've unlocked all unlockabkes and not 1 achievement

That's not how Home Xbox works, and he never had access to your games. Downloading his profile to your Xbox does not give him access to your games on his Xbox.

And deleting his account won't make the game playable by your account; the game is still owned by his account (the licence is attached to his profile), so to play the game he would also need to be logged in on your Xbox while you play.

Changing *your* profile's Home Xbox affects only where the games *you* purchased can be played, it does not allow you to play games that you downloaded using someone else's account.

This issue is linked with your account, but I just confirmed by calling into Xbox Support that they can reset the "3 time per year" counter associated with the account.

She deleted my gold subscription in the process, but we eventually got everything worked out and I could then set my Xbox back to "my home Xbox".
