    Make any USB Headset Device XBOX One Compatible


    just one of my many thoughts about how MS or any company could have made a fortune out of this too.

    as everyone knows with the release of the xbone all old gen usb hardware has been made obsolete by not being compatible with the xbox one and in the recent years only handful of companies released xbox one compatible usb devices.

    but what if one company releases a usb dongle device that would make any usb headset/device xbox one compatible?

    or a basestation where you just plugin the other usb devices. and because of certain chips in that dongle/basestation those will be recognized by the xbox one?

    wouldnt the person or the company who would be making these dongles/basestation make a fortune out of this converting device?

    oh well just my thoughts on that since turtlebeach with those dongles and basestations for the wireless headsets and astro with the new gen3 a50 sparking that idea....

    No it will not work using the usb ports, make sure its compatible with Xbox one, you will also need the headset adapter to use it with the console.

    Unfortunately accessories for the Xbox 360 including those that connect via USB rarely if ever work on the Xbox One. One reason for that is likely that the headset interface isn't compatible with whatever changes were made in the Xbox One series of consoles.
    If Microsoft is not including the required USB drivers to make it work then there is absolutely nothing that you can do to make the device work on an Xbox One console.

    Only a small selection of wireless headsets work with the Xbox One family of consoles. I believe SteelSeries have produced one which comes with a USB dongle that works with the Xbox One (and other platforms like Android devices, and the Nintendo Switch),
    LucidSound, Turtle Beach, and Astro also make wireless headsets that are compatible with the Xbox One family of consoles.

    There are many headset manufactures that have made headsets which use the Xbox's proprietary connection "Xbox Wireless" to connect their headsets to the Xbox One wirelessly without the need for a dongle or base station.
    Some examples include Steelseries, Turtle Beach, and LucidSound. As of right now, I have not seen any announcements that would make your headset compatible because USB headsets are not supported on the Xbox. Logitech would have to release a new headset which
    uses the same Xbox Wireless connection to connect to the console wirelessly, or Xbox would have to release a system update making all USB headsets compatible.

    In either case, your best option would be to contact Logitech and ask if there are any plans to make a wireless headset compatible with the Xbox One, and you can also post on the

    Xbox Requests forum     to get your request seen by Xbox Insider developers and hopefully get some traction regarding USB headset compatibility on the Xbox One.

    Nope. Unfortunately there is no support for USB headset/microphone with Xbox. Some headsets do have a USB port, but these are Xbox compatible headsets. You will need to ensure you obtain a headset that is compatible with Xbox one. As you can see from the
    Razer site, the Razer Kraken is compatible with Xbox: https://support.razer.com/gaming-headsets-and-audio/razer-kraken-xbox-one/ but it
    appears the Kraken Ultimate is not compatible.
