Major Xbox Account Issues

So yesterday I bought a new Gamertag changing mine from ElsaFrozen2013 to but it hasn't actually changed and it has billed the bank $9.99. Also a while back I changed my Avatar in the Windows 10 app but it didn't change...how do I fix these
issues?

I decided to sign up for Xbox Live Rewards and that's where the trouble began. The email on my gamertag is set to one that I originally signed up with back in around 04. I no longer have access to that email nor do I remember the password. I have no idea
what my account recovery questions are either. So now I have no idea how to change my email on the account.

Problem 2:, I went ahead and signed up my primary email for windows live and then hop on over here. I was shocked to find I already have a username/gamertag associated with this account ( ??????). I have no idea what this is or where it came
from. I have never had a Live account on this email so how can I remove the gamertag associated with this email?

Xbox has started assigning random gamertags when you sign up, so that's probably where this gamertag came from. If that's the case, then you get 1 free name change.

It's super strange that your account isn't moving over to the GT you changed it to. To check, where did you perform the Gamertag change? If you sign into commerce.microsoft.com do you see a settled
transaction for the Gamertag change?

For this particular issue I suggest reaching out to Phone/Chat support to take a quick peek into the purchase. They may have a bit more details, but definitely keep us updated with that you hear from them.

So apparently you have to buy the tag then go back to the page where you change it and then change it. That is so stupid. Actually, less stupid and more redundant.
