Major "Real Name Sharing" Security/Safety Issue!

Hyrule....wait nope. My profile page isn't where you'd be seeing my issue.

You would have to friend or follow me, then when you went to one of those lists, you'd see...

"Kinectamanaic Kinect amaniac"

 

Or, if we recently played a game...it would also show up under your recent players list.

 

I'm glad that I could be of some help. I'm thinking that the reason that you are seeing your name is because you are viewing your profile from your own console. If you have a friend (on your friends list) with the Xbox One, have them view your profile to
see if your name shows up for them. If it does, double check your "Name Sharing Settings" just to verify that it is indeed turned off and not set to share with friends only.

As for my gamerscore, not bad for 3 years of playing is it? But its not as high as some others (there are two that are around 1 million).

 

So friends list, followers list, and recent players list...all show my issue.

 

I currently have my settings on "turn off real name sharing"...but it's still sharing.

 

I just edited previous post, but still not quick enough. I am now following you, but it still does not show me your real name:

Try turning it on then try a hard reset of your console.

 

Stop looking at my profile page...that is not where you'd see my issue. If you are following me, go to your list of people you are following. There is where you will see my issue.

 

I went to my list of friends/followers and am viewing your name in the list of people I follow. I still don't see your real name:

Hey, sorry it took so long to reply, but I'm with Hyrule here, I pulled you up as soon as I got home and all I saw was your Gamertag like the image above. So I guess that it confirms your friends are seeing but it's not displaying to the public.

Okay, now go look again. I still have "turn off real name sharing" in effect, but I've now enabled my settings to where everyone can see my information.

Check your friends list and followers list again and I bet it now says " Kinect amaniac"

But like I said, I have real name sharing turned off.

 

....so that second Kinect amaniac shouldn't be showing up at all...since I have real name sharing turned off.
