I just looked up your profile on my xbox one and your name wasnt there and it shows you as offline checked 10 seconds ago.

Major "Real Name Sharing" Security/Safety Issue!

Hi Kinectamaniac,

Just to say I searched up your GT and it did not show your real name or any other name, as per xxxGhost Riderx said only you will see your named as you blocked it from showing it.

I know this can be scary about showing your real name but be safe in the knowledge that only you can see it now.

You can change the setting for each of your friends by changing friendship, and this will give you a choice that you can choose from.

It appears only to you not your friends or followers if you have it blocked. It appears on my account too but I turned it off don't worry.

 

It's not showing my real name anymore because Customer Service had me change my display name to something other than my real name.

If you go on your console, you will see Kinect amaniac.

Because I had to alter my first name to Kinect and my last name to amanaic.

And now, when I sign into my console, it no longer says, "Hi (my real first name)". It now says "Hi Kinect"...since I have Kinect as my display first name.

And that alone is annoying.

 

Well it sure is showing up on my friends' friend's list...even though my settings are set for it to be showing up for NO ONE.

 

Remember, I even did the "turn off name sharing"...and it's still showing up on my friend's list and my friend's friends list.

 

Have you tried a hard reset of your console? Then turning that feature off

 

Here's another good question...

In one of my posts earlier, I was gonna delete it and post something different, so I chose delete and it took me to the delete page, where it said "there have been no replies to this post so no children will be deleted"

Then below that, there was a box to check that said "delete children."

Um...wtf was that all about?

Um, wut?

 

These forums still have bugs it still is fairly new still

 

These forums have been here since the launch of Xbox.com...which was a LONG time ago. Why are you saying it's fairly new?

 

You do a hard reset of the xbox one by holding your finger over the power button for 5_10 seconds or until light turns orange on power supply,also unplug the pwr supply from the console and wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. then try turning that feature
off.

 

That was one of the many troubleshooting steps customer service had me do...didn't fix it.

 

i dont know what else to try let me check the preview forums and see if anyone else has reported this

 

Kinectamaniac. Who is viewing your profile when you see your name? Are you viewing it from your console? My Xbox One is set to share with friends only and displays on my profile when I view it via my own console. Look me up via your Xbox One and tell me
if you see my name. If you do, I am publicly authorizing you to print my real name here in the forums.
